Includes alarm management, signature configuration, sensor configuration, and troubleshooting components. Emphasizes identifying, resolving, and documenting network crises and activating the response team. You will pick a security tool or topic to talk about (related to intrusion detection) and demonstrate in class. A good start for ideas is sectools.org and this course s content (naturally). We will spend a good amount of time in class doing lab work and this experience will get you a feel for what is expected of you. There will be two days allocated for presentations (we have 20 students and we will use Nov 23 rd as a first group and Nov 30 th as a second group). As a deliverable I expect a PowerPoint presentation or a Word Document or a video recording. I will show you samples of previous presentations. The goal is to have all of your projects zipped up and I will share them so that you have something you can take with you. More on this later. The student must re-enroll to receive credit. COM (Completed) is given in non-credit and continuing education courses. To compute grade point average (GPA), divide the total grade points by the total number of semester hours attempted. The grades "IP," "COM" and "I" do not affect GPA. Meningitis immunization Texas Senate Bill 1107 passed in May 2011, requires that new HCC students and former HCC students returning after an absence of at least one fall or spring semester who are under the age of 30 to present a physician-signed certificate showing that they have been vaccinated against bacterial meningitis.
