Now it s time to make sure your child uses the tango!, gets the most out of it, and truly communicates with the people most important in his or her life, and that s you! The tango! will allow your child to do many things that were previously unthinkable for someone who needed to rely upon a speech-generating device. Kelly Meyer engagement leads to motivation By using a Social Script, you and your student can quickly engage in a communication interaction! Your student can ask questions, make comments, give commands, and take turns with a communication partner about many different topics and activities. In this example, you were able to review different parts of the games as well as find out favorite places and characters. Later on, you will learn how to use Word Banks to build sentences, providing even more communication power. After only minimal practice, a young man I work with was able to independently order a Sprite at McDonald s, pay for it, and say, Thank you, have a nice day. Peggy Toonen, SLP Explore the Word Banks in the other Talk Topics. You ll see how we organized most of our words. We think you ll agree it s easier to navigate a group of important topic words, rather than be confronted by huge pages of vocabulary.
