1 Thursdays in the Park A Collection of Short Stories and Poems Published 2012 by Ward Bitz Publishing This book is a sample of the short stories and poems produced by past and present participants in the Maple Leaf G&CC Creative Writing group. The purpose was to provide some history of the park and our group, plus raise money to donate to local charities. The participants value the strong sense of community at Maple Leaf and the opportunity to share their writing interests with their fellow residents. A copy can be found in our ML library.

2 GOLFING LINKS COURSES IN THE BRITISH AND EMERALD ISLES Published July 2011 by Walt Lemon This book recounts the year-by-year itineraries and a light-hearted look at the adventures of a core group of Canadian golfers and their friends playing the links courses of Great Britain and Ireland over the course of seventeen annual-once-in-alifetime trips, beginning in 1993 through To whet the appetite of fellow golfers, there are course descriptions and observations seen through the eyes of the author and his playing companions; perspectives on the history of the courses and the famous players who have played them, drawn from the course websites; plus some handson advice for those readers who may be interested in planning a trip of their won to play links golf in the Isles. 3 A Collection of More or Less True Stories Published 2015 by Larry Coglan Before retiring to a life at a snow bird, Larry spent his working career as a tool and die maker for Oral-B Laboratories. While spending winters in southwest Florida with his wife, Carol, he joined a creative writing club and discovered the fun in the written word. Summers are spent on their hobby farm in rural southeast Iowa with their two horses, Eli and Rocky; two little dogs, Rosy and Bailey, family and friends.

4 The Mill House Published 2013 by Wilma E. Angus Wilma s first book gives readers a real sense of what children went through during this period of time. Wilma Angus exemplifies the strength, courage and fortitude that made this generation that brought our nation through World War II, our greatest generation.

5 Growing Up Published 2013 by Wilma E. Angus This is Wilma`s second book, and captures stories from her early life. At 90, Wilma remains a dynamo, involved in many different Arts & Crafts activities, displaying great talent at everything she sets her mind to. These stories are told with her unique style of writing, and capture the ups and downs of her life.

6 I Don t Do Poetry Written and Published by Tom Kanigan in 2015 This is Tom s first book of poems, and the title reflects his continuing amazement regarding his flair for poetry, a talent he discovered at age 62. Tom s poems cover a wide range of topics, from the very personal, including relationship issues, to social and political commentary. They have a captivating rhythm and are a compelling medium for expressing thought provoking ideas and powerful emotions. He skillfully employs fascinating turns of phrase.

7 Country Lawyer, City Judge Written and Published by The Honorable A.C. Hamilton, 2007 Each chapter in Country Lawyer, City Judge takes us inside the allegations of foibles, tragedies, broken promises and predations that daily parade through our judicial system. As a lawyer, Hamilton treats everyone with equal empathy, whether accused or victim. As a judge, he brings quiet dignity and tough-minded principle to each case. Al was a valued member of the Maple Leaf Creative Writing group until his passing. He led a very interesting and productive career in both his professions.

8 The Book of James Written and Published by Lorna Hamilton, 2007 Lorna was born in Deloraine, Manitoba. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from United College, now the University of Winnipeg, and a Diploma of Education degree from the University of Manitoba. She was married to the late Honorable A.C. Hamilton, and has a daughter, three sons, five grandchildren and one great-grandson. Lorna taught in various schools throughout the province, latterly in Winnipeg where she currently lives. When she winters in Florida, she, and Al prior to his passing, attends the Creative Writing class and she decided to write a novel. This was a work in progress, off and on, for about three years. Hence, the Book of James.
