3 MICHIGAN CHAPTER SCIENTIFIC MEETING October 19 October 22, 2017 Learning Objectives At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to: Apply updated knowledge of internal medicine to clinical practice Apply updated knowledge of dietary choices in control of hypertension, identify and treat common dermatological conditions, understand the evolving definition of sepsis, and how to best provide favorable outcomes in clinical practice Improve clinical practice by incorporating major new developments in subspecialty medicine Understand recent advances in internal medicine Increase confidence in performing clinical skills Understand political advocacy and reform Identify common causes of medical career fatigue and how it can be prevented CME Accreditation The American College of Physicians is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The American College of Physicians designates this live activity for a maximum of 21.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. How Do I Receive My CME Documentation? The website for claiming CME credit will be live beginning at noon on the last day of the meeting. Go to Login with your ACPOnline.org username and password. Your name and ACP number will automatically appear in the form, but you will need to enter your address. Choose the Michigan Chapter meeting, enter the number of CME credits you are claiming for the meeting (You cannot claim concurrent CME) and click Submit for Credits. You will receive an confirmation of your CME credit claim. It is especially important for those applying under the pathway, which requires two years of activity as a member.

The Chapter Excellence Award recognizes those chapters that excel in reaching the standards for managing a chapter, such as communicating to members, instituting Medical Students and Residents activities and advancing and recruiting members. A Chapter Excellence certificate will be awarded at the meeting by the College representative.
