8 English for Academic Purposes CRICOS Course Code: G Why study this course? The English for Academic Purposes is assessment based. There is no final exam, but like many university courses, your final scores are an average and amalgamation of your entire work for the course. Twice during the course there are proficiency tests to check that your English level is equivalent to relevant academic abilities, and this is designed to better guide your learning. 13 English for Young Learners CRICOS Course Code B Why study this course? Have Fun! Learn English! The English for Young Learners course provides students aged 7-12 with the opportunity to develop their English language skills and it also prepares them for entry into the NSW Primary School mainstream. Levels: Beginner, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate and Upper-Intermediate Intake Dates: Any Monday Study per week: 25 hours of face-to-face study per week Outcomes Provides English studies for students looking to enter primary schools in NSW Focus on English, Music and PDHPE Students learn English through songs, rhymes, clapping, music and movement games Pastoral care and high level of supervision Full sports and active lifestyle programs to encourage healthy living Monthly reports for students, parents and guardians Dedicated, professional and fully qualified teachers to ensure students have a positive learning experience. Correlation to ESL scales to ensure that students achieve required outcomes in the assigned English language levels. 14 Study Tours AICE is famous for its custom-made study tour programmes. Students can study English in the morning and then use their new knowledge as they see interesting cultural and tourist sites in Sydney in the afternoon. Programmes can be designed for all levels, ages, budgets and areas of interests. We promise quality teachers and interactive and exciting activities to enhance students enjoyment of their time in Australia. Students can get involved in local schools, sports and outdoor activities or arts and culture. AICE can also design and accommodate English Camps for organisations who are interested in sending groups of students to live, study and learn about Australia together. Ask us for more information and more sample programmes. REQUIREMENTS Study Tours can only be arranged in groups. There must be at least 10 students to run a class. If there are less than 10 students, additional surcharges will apply depending on the number of students. Accommodation (homestay, student lodge, hotels, etc.) can be provided by the college but this will be subject to availability and there will be additional costs involved. 13 Booking and payment are required at least 4 weeks in advance. Students must be able to make their own way to the college each day and pay for their own transport. The times and venues of afternoon activities may vary due to weather conditions and availability.

These events will assist students in a variety of areas of life and study in Australia. 16 Social Activities Sydney is an extremely vibrant city and AICE is here to assist you in experiencing it. The student services team creates an activities schedule on a monthly basis for you to get involved in activities, both on campus and around town. 18 Accommodation Homestay family arrangement Homestay is a great way for students to experience the culture and lifestyle of a family living in Australia. All homestay families are carefully selected, inspected and monitored. Guardianship homestays are available for under-aged students See the AICE website for pricing information. Flat-share and Apartment The AICE Student Services Officer can help adult students access information on independently finding apartments or flat-shares in Sydney. Airport transfer AICE can arrange for you to be picked up at the airport and driven to your arranged accommodation. An additional cost is payable for this service. Send us a copy of the completed application form along with the following documents: Copy of your passport Relevant Academic Transcript Relevant Proficiency Certificate An applicant under 18 years of age must supply a Letter of Intention from a guardian or parent agreeing with their child attending AICE. Read the offer letter carefully and accept the offer by signing it (students under 18 will need to have a parent or guardian sign). Send us the signed copy of the offer along with the payment due as stated on the offer. Send us a copy of your visa grant letter. Start your English learning adventure at AICE! How to Apply 1 2 Complete the AICE application form AICE will assess your application and if you are successful, the College will send you a letter of offer. 6 Once payment is verified, we will send you a Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) which will allow you to apply for your student visa. 8 Contact the AICE Student Services team if you require information about accommodation options in Sydney
