CITY OF DALLAS, Dallas, Texas Assistant to the City Manager, Mayor and Council Office, City Directed department with a staff of 15 employees; planned and managed an annual budget of $518,000; provided staff support to Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem and City Council. Major tasks involved scheduling appearances and appointments, composing speeches and correspondence and serving as a communication link between the City Manager and City Council, planning and implementing new telephone system. DALLAS PUBLIC LIBRARY. City of Dallas Manager, Urban Information Center Directed center operations for services to library users and coordinated special research services to other city departments. Supervised 10 employees and responsible for an annual materials budget of $42,000. Major tasks included: Maintained and marketed the library's online community information database, APL/CAT; coordinating program and research services of the Grants Information Service (a center of foundation, non-profit management, proposal writing and general grants information); maintaining a collection of materials focusing on public administration, municipal documents and issues of "urban concern;" providing online database research on varied topics; and assist in the production of a quarterly publication, The Urban Information Review.
