8 Purpose of the CEAC Provide Chinese student counsellors with essential skills and knowledge for working in international education, i.e. An understanding of the international education market and the main student destination countries The skills and research parameters to analyse destination countries and their education products and processes The functional dynamics of dealing with students, education institutions and governments 8

9 CEAC Course Development CEAC is a Chinese version of the IATC (ICEF Agent Training Course) Translated by ICEF and customised by BOSSA IATC was developed with the input of 769 agents in 113 countries and 437 education institutions in 78 countries An international Advisory Board reviewed and gave input to final IATC course material (30 agent / educator members in 19 countries) 9

15 CEAC Lessons Each Lesson starts with an overview of its content Focus Questions at the beginning of each Lesson prepare the student for the information contained in it 15

16 CEAC Pages Pages provide the learning material Extension Questions assist in applying the knowldege gained: -> a check list ensuring that student counsellors can give accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date information about specific destination countries to prospective students Activities at the end of each Page are learning tools testing and reinforcing essential information before moving to the next 16

New entrants: Individuals wishing to enter the international education industry as study abroad advisers (with or without previous experience) New agency staff members: the CEAC is an excellent training tool for new student counsellors at agencies Practising student counsellors: the CEAC provides up-to-date information about international education principles and processes Agency managers / owners are also welcome to take the course 17

18 CEAC Practical Information Delivered online in a self-paced modular format (70 hrs of study are recommended) Total cost of 1300 (registration fee 260, Certification test 1040, includes three test attempts) Test / formal assessment: 50 multiple choice questions to be answered in 90 minutes (destination country content not tested) Candidates with a minimum of 80% correct answers pass the test Testing to take place at the 200+ Pearson Vue testing centres around China Highly recommended to do (and pass) the self-assessment test before requesting a testing opportunity Candidates successfully passing the CEAC test will receive Certificates from ICEF, BOSSA and the Chinese Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MOHRSS) 18

20 Benefits for advisers and their agencies Apart from increased knowledge, passing the test provides further industry credibility to student counsellors and their agencies Successful candidates will obtain the status of China ICEF Trained Agent Counsellor (CITAC), recognizing them internationally as qualified consultants for the international education industry The Certificate issued by the Chinese Ministry of Human Resources (MOHRSS) provides them with national recognition as qualified agents in China The CITAC status will fast become a recognised distinction of quality and professionalism in China and abroad 20

21 Recognition of CITACs CITACs will receive 3 Certificates (ICEF, BOSSA, MOHRSS) Their name, CITAC #, agency profile & contact information will be featured in an online listing on the ICEF and BOSSA websites Graduates are also featured on the CITAC Finder (Google map, find an agency by location) 21
