ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY PATHOLOGY, MICROBIOLOGY AND PARASITOLOGY 2 POSTS- AC/1/6/18- (R&T) An applicant should be a holder of an earned PhD degree in from a recognized University.They must at least have at least three (3) years teaching experience at Senior Lecturer level. The applicant must have supervised at least two (2) PhD students and three (3) Masters Students to completion. Applicants must have a minimum of forty eight (48) publication points as a Senior Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least thirty two (32) should be from refereed scholarly journals. They must have attracted research or development funds as a Senior Lecturer and registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable). The successful candidate is expected to lead in technical proposal writing for funding and teach both at undergraduate and post graduate degree levels. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH -1 POST-AC/1/7/18- ( R&T) Applicants should be a holders of either BDS/BSc/BA/MBCHB/MPH/MSc and an earned PhD degree in from a recognized University.They must at least have at least three (3) years teaching experience at Senior Lecturer level. The applicant must have supervised at least two (2) PhD students and three (3) Masters Students to completion. 2 SENIOR LECTURER, DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS- 1 POST AC/1/8/18 (R&T) Applicants must be holders of an earned PhD degree (or a Masters degree in special cases) from a recognized and accredited university. They should be specialized in the following areas of specialization:- Solid state Physics, Materials Science, Nuclear& Radiation Physics, Geophysics, Theoretical Physics, Astronomy& Astrophysics, Electronics, Laser Physics& Spectroscopy, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and any other branches of Physics from a recognized university They should have at least three (3) years teaching experience as a Lecturer at both undergraduate and post graduate degree levels and must have supervised at least three (3) postgraduate Students to completion. They must have experience in research as evidenced by publications in refereed journals. In addition, they should have at least thirty two (32) publication points as a Lecturer of which twenty four (24) should be from refereed scholarly journals. They must have attracted research or development funds as a Lecturer and registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable). They should have research experience, with at least 24 publications points of which 16 should be from refereed journals. They should show evidence of continuing research activity. They should be able to teach Reproductive Health/ Maternal & Child Health, Primary Health Care, Health System Management& Research Methods and any other area in Public Health or for those with a PhD degree in Health 2

3 Economics :-Health Economics, Health System Management, Biostatistics, Research Methods or any other relevant area. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students and undertake further research in their areas of specialization and also participate in Departmental activities. LECTURER, DEPARTMENT OF CLINICAL MEDICINE& THERAPEUTICS, CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY UNIT -2 POSTS-AC/1/11/18- (CHS) Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in Clinical Pharmacology from a recognized university. Applicants who possess a Masters degree in Internal Medicine, Paediatrics or Clinical Pharmacology and have at least three (3) years teaching experience at University level will also be considered. They should have research experience, with at least 24 publications points of which 16 should be from refereed journals. They should show evidence of continuing research activity. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students and undertake further research in their areas of specialization and also participate in Departmental activities. LECTURER, INSTITUTE OF DIPLOMACY & INTERNATIONAL STUDIES -1 POST- AC/1/12/18- (CHSS) Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in International Law or International Economics from a recognized university. Applicants who possess a Masters degree in the relevant area of specialization and have at least three (3) years teaching experience at University level and are registered for a PhD degree in the relevant area will also be considered. They should have research experience, with at least 24 publications points of which 16 should be from refereed journals. They should show evidence of continuing research activity. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students and undertake further research in their areas of specialization and also participate in Departmental activities. PRINCIPAL TECHNOLOGIST-1 POST- SCIENCE WORKSHOP- AC/1/13/17- (R&T) Applicants must be holders of a Masters degree in relevant area from a recognized institution. They must also have at least five (5) years experience at the level of Chief Technologist or equivalent. OR Holders of a BSc. degree or Higher National Diploma in relevant area or equivalent plus ten years experience at the level of Chief Technologist in a busy teaching/research/ laboratory. The successful candidate will be expected to provide leadership in the Department, supervise technical staff, manage teaching and research facilities. He/She will also be responsible for processing procurement 3

4 and departmental annual estimates, organize practicals for both undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as participate research and consultancy activities. ASSISTANT REGISTRAR, OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY VICE- CHANCELLOR (A&F), DEAN S OFFICE, FACULTY OF VETERINARY MEDICINE-1 POST- AC/1/14/18-(R&T) Applicants should be holders of at least a Masters degree in public administration or human resource management or its equivalent, CPS(K) or relevant professional qualification, 6 years administrative experience, 3 of which must have been as a Senior Administrative Assistant Grade EF. They must be computer literate and members of a recognized professional administration or management body. CHIEF TECHNOLOGIST IN THE DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY PATHOLOGY, MICROBIOLOGY & PARASITOLOGY- 1 POST- AC/1/15/18- ( CAVS) Applicants must be holders of a Higher National Diploma or BSc in Medical Laboratory Technology or BSc in related field with 7 years experience as a Senior Technologist Grade DEF in Pathology and Microbiology teaching laboratory. The person must have worked in Parasitology and Virology laboratory. The successful candidate will provide leadership in technical matters in the department. He/she will also be expected to supervise technical staff, organize practicals for both undergraduate and postgraduate students and procure materials for teaching and research. SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT GRADE EF, GRADUATE SCHOOL- 1 POST AD/1/16/18- (R&T) Applicants should be holders of a Bachelor s (at least lower 2 nd class Hons.) degree from a recognized university and CPS II or relevant professional or postgraduate qualification in management. They should also have at least three (3) years experience as Administrative Assistant Grade CD or equivalent position. They must be Computer literate. ( Only administrative staff currently serving on permanent are eligible) SENIOR SECRETARY GRADE D, GRADUATE SCHOOL -AD/1/17/18-1 POST -(R&T) Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE C or KCE Div. III or an equivalent qualification with a credit in English Language. In addition they must have passed the following subjects offered by the Kenya National Examinations Council or equivalent examining body:- - Business English III - Commerce II - Secretarial Duties II - Office Management III 4

5 - Shorthand III (minimum 120 wpm) or Audio-Typewriting III - Typewriting 50 wpm They should have certificates in and be able to use Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Data Base Management packages and at least three (3) years experience as Assistant Senior Secretary Grade C or a comparable position of responsibility for this grade. They should have knowledge of Anti-virus Tools. FOREMAN GRADE C/D (ELECTRICIAN) -1 POST- CONSTRUCTION & MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT- AD/1/18/18- ( R&T) Applicants should have the following qualifications: KCSE certificate or its equivalent. Technician Part III Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering. Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution with at least one year post experience will also be considered. They should also have an Electrician License Class C (ERC). They must have at least 3 years relevant experience as Trade Foreman Grade A/B. ASSISTANT SENIOR SECRETARY GRADE C IN THE FOLLOWING UNITS :- 1. GRADUATE SCHOOL- 2 POSTS- AD/1/19/18- ( R&T) 2. COST SHARING UNIT- 1 POST- AD/1/20/18- ( R&T) Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE C or KCE Div. III or an equivalent qualification with a credit in English Language. In addition they must have passed the following subjects offered by the Kenya National Examinations Council or equivalent examining body:- - Business English III - Commerce II - Secretarial Duties II - Office Management III - Shorthand III (minimum 120 wpm) or Audio-Typewriting III - Typewriting 50 wpm They should have certificates in and be able to use Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Data Base Management packages and at least three (3) years experience as Secretary Grade B or a comparable position of responsibility for this grade. TECHNOLOGIST GRADE ABC 3 POSTS- DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY PATHOLOGY, MICROBIOLOGY & PARASITOLOGY-AD/1/21/18- ( CAVS) Applicant should be holders of at least a KCSE with pass in Science subjects or equivalent qualification. They must also possess an ordinary Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or Diploma in Industrial and Applied Biology from a recognized institution. They must have at least three (3) years working experience in a busy Veterinary Pathology and Microbiology teaching laboratory. Those with experience in postmortem, Histological techniques, Incinerator operations, media preparation and store keeping will have an added advantage. 5

6 FINANCE DEPARTMENT ADVERTISEMENTS DEPUTY FINANCE OFFICER- 1 POST- FINANCE DEPARTMENT- AC/1/22/18- ( R&T) Applicants must be qualified Accountants with CPA (K) and are registered members of ICPAK. Candidates must possess Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Management or Finance and MBA. PhD will be an added advantage. They must have gained at least twelve (12) years relevant experience 3 years at least as Senior Accountant 1 or as Assistant Chief Internal Auditor or equivalent. Candidates are required to have Information Technology skills and proficiency in computerized Accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementation of sound Accounting Systems. The candidate will be expected to provide Financial, Accounting and Audit Reports in the areas under his/her jurisdiction. He/she will be responsible for interpretation of financial policies and will be expected to carry out research and training in Financial Management as well as developing other Accounting staff. SENIOR ACCOUNTANT I- 6 POSTS- FINANCE DEPARTMENT- AC/1/23/18 - ( R&T) Applicants must be qualified Accountants with CPA (K), who are registered members of ICPAK, in good standing. Candidates must possess a Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Management or Finance. They must also posses a relevant Masters degree. They must have eight (8) years relevant experience as Management level, three (3) of which at Senior Accountant II level. Candidates are required to have Information Technology skills and be proficient in Computerized Accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementation of sound Accounting system within an accounting unit, maintain proper books of accounts and records and ensure that the established internal controls are adhered to. He or she will be responsible for the development and training of accounting staff. This is a senior position and to succeed one must have the ability to supervise, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate should have high level of integrity and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams of professionals. SENIOR ACCOUNTANT II- 1 POST- FINANCE DEPARTMENT- AC/1/24/18- ( R&T) Applicants must be qualified Accountants with CPA (K), who are registered members of ICPAK, in good standing. Candidates must also possess a Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Management or Finance. They must also have five (5) years relevant experience at a Management level, three (3) of which at Accountant Grade EF level. Holders of MBA or its equivalent will have an added advantage. They must have at least three (3) years relevant experience at the level of Assistant Accountant CD or equivalent. They must be proficient in Computerized Accounting Word, Data Processing and Spreadsheet. The successful candidates will report to Senior Accountant and will be responsible for bank reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, reconciliation of students accounts. The candidates will be expected to provide financial and accounting reports under his/her jurisdiction and perform other accounting functions as assigned by the Senior Accountant. ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT GRADE C/D-7 POSTS- FINANCE DEPARTMENT- AC/1/26/18- ( R&T) Applicant must possess CPA III or equivalent. Candidates with Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Management or Finance will have an added advantage. They must also have a minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in the field of Accounting at the level of Accounts Assistant grade AB pr equivalent. Applicants must also have relevant computer skills including Word Processing, Database and Spreadsheet. The successful candidates will report to the Accountant and duties will entail assisting in bank reconciliations, reconciliation of Students Accounts and performing other accounting functions as assigned by the Accountant. ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT GRADE A/B- 4 POSTS- FINANCE DEPARTMENT- AC/1/27/18- ( R&T) Applicants must possess CPA III with a minimum grade of C+ in KCSE with credit C in Mathematic and English. In addition they should be computer literate with three (3) years experience at grade IV or equivalent. Candidates with Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Management or Finance will have an added advantage. Those with CPA II and also have gained at least five (5) yeas experience will also be considered. 7
