They must also be in possession of a PhD degree in Architecture with specialization in at least one of the following areas: Environmental Design in Architecture, History and Theory of Architecture, Architectural Design, Urban Design, Building Technology, Housing, Architectural Conservation and Landscape Architecture. In addition, they should have a minimum of ten (10) years teaching experience, 3 years must be at Associate Professor level. Applicants should have supervised Postgraduate students minimum 3 PhD and 5 Masters students and evidence of scholarly related activities. They should have at a minimum of 6 publications in refereed journals or 3 publications in refereed journals and 3 chapters in scholarly books since the last promotion. 2 LECTURER, SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS -3 POSTS-AC/2/47/16- (CHSS) Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in Economics from a recognized university. Applicants who possess a Masters degree in the relevant area of specialization and have at least three (3) years teaching experience at University level and are registered for a PhD degree in the relevant area will also be considered. They should have research experience, with at least two (2) publications in refereed journals or two chapters in scholarly books. They should show evidence of continuing research activity. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and supervise at both undergraduate and postgraduate students and undertake further research in their areas of specialization and also participate in School s activities. LECTURER DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURE AND BUILDING SCIENCE- 3 POSTS- AC/2/48/16- (CAE) Applicants must be holders of a professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch) or equivalent or a professional degree in Landscape Architecture. They must have an academic interest in Architectural Design and at least one of the following areas of Architecture. Environmental Design in Architecture, History and Theory of Architecture, Architectural Design, Urban Design, Building Technology, Architectural Conservation, Interior Design in Architecture and Landscape Architecture Successful applicants will be expected to assist in teaching at undergraduate degree level. They will also be expected to undertake research in their areas of specialization and prepare for registration with the relevant professional boards. HOUSING ASSISTANT GRADE BC- I POST- ESTATES DEPARTMENT- AD/2/50/16- (R&T) Applicants should be holders of at least an Ordinary Diploma in Housing related administration. They should have at least three years working experience Grade A and be computer literate. Reporting to the Estates Manager, the successful candidate will be expected to do the following duties among others:- 2

3 Preparing relevant documents for housing Allocation Committee Handling housing rent reconciliation Checking in/ out university tenants Updating tents register among other duties. HOUSING CLERK GRADE IV- I POST- ESTATES DEPARTMENT- AD/2/51/16- (R&T) Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE C or equivalent with credits in English and Mathematics or equivalent. They must have at least three (3) years experience as Clerk Grade III and must have shown merit and ability in work performance and results. Those with professional Diploma e.g. Diploma or Certificate in Archives & records Management will have an added advantage. TECHNOLOGIST, GRADE ABC, DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING- 2 POSTS -AD/2/51/16- (CAE). Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE Mean Grade C with credits in relevant science subjects and an Ordinary Diploma in Power, Electronics, Telecommunication or Control Engineering or equivalent plus 3 years relevant experience. The successful candidate will be expected to organize practicals and also carry out routine analysis and maintain lab equipment. REGISTRY CLERK GRADE A, AFRICAN WOMEN STUDIES CENTRE, - 1 POST- AD/2/52/16-(CHSS) Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE C or equivalent with credits in English and or equivalent and a Diploma in IT, CCNA, N+. Applicants with one year s working experience in an institution dealing with African Women issues will have an added advantage. Please note that the appointment is on a one year contract term renewable on mutual agreement. ASSISTANT SECRETARY GRADE A, SPECIAL STUDENTS ADVISORY OFFICE- 1 POST-AD/2/53/16- (R&T) Applicants should be holders of a KCSE Grade C or KCE Div. III or its equivalent qualification with a Credit in English language. In addition they must have passed the following subjects offered by the Kenya National Examinations Council or equivalent examining body:- - Business English II - Commerce II - Secretarial Duties II - Office Management III - Shorthand 80 wpm or Audio Typing III - Typewriting 50 wpm They must be computer literate. 3

4 STOREMAN GRADE IV, DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING & MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING- 1 POST -AD/2/54/16- (CAE). Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE C or its equivalent. They must also hold an Advanced Certificate in Supplies Management or its equivalent and at least three (3) years at Grade III level or equivalent. Those with a Diploma in Management ( Purchasing & Supplies Option) and considerable internship experience in handling engineering stores materials will have an added advantage. SENIOR MESSENGER GRADE III, OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY VICE CHANCELLOR (STUDENTS AFFAIRS)- 1 POST- AD/2/55/16- (R&T) Applicants must be holders of at least a KCSE certificate or its equivalent. They must have at least five years working experience in relevant offices. They must have a good school leaving certificate and a good reference letter from current Section Head. They must be able to communicate fluently in both English and Kiswahili languages. They must have served as Messenger / Cleaner grade II or equivalent position for at least three (3) years. They must have good public relations. They must have knowledge of the use of office equipments like photocopiers etc and must be of high integrity, reliable, disciplined and committed to work. The successful candidate will be expected to show outstanding merit and ability to handle highly classified information and work with minimum supervision. They will also be expected to work during odd hours and also during weekends. GROUNDSMAN GRADE II, ESTATES DEPARTMENT- 1 POST AD/2/56/16- (R&T) Applicants must be holders of at least a KCSE certificate or its equivalent. They must have at least five years working experience in relevant offices. They must have a good school leaving certificate and a good reference letter from current Section Head. ADVERTISEMENT FOR FELLOWSHIP IN MEDICAL ONCOLOGY (CHS) Applications are invited for a two year full-time fellowship in Medical Oncology to be administered jointly by the Department of Clinical Medicine and Therapeutics, University of Nairobi and Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), India beginning 1 st June Applicant must be holder of a Masters degree in Internal Medicine from a recognized university and has demonstrated keen interest in Medical Oncology by research, publication or engagement in clinical work in the discipline. In addition to submitting application form for postgraduate admission, individuals will be expected to provide: 4

5 1. Evidence of Registration or eligibility for registration with Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board (KMPDB) 2. Evidence of proficiency in English Language as TOEFL/IELTS or evidence of at least 12 years of continuous instruction in English Language. 3. Two referees. Applicants should be of sound mental and physical health, and should have conducted themselves with integrity with a manner befitting the medical profession and in accordance with the KMPDB manual on code of conduct and medical ethics and public officer s Ethics Act 2003, Part III General code of Conduct and Ethics.
