7 STUDY IN SWEDEN The Higher education system in Sweden is divided into three levels: basic level (grundnivå), advanced level (avancerad nivå), and graduate level (forskarnivå). Sweden has 41 higher education institutions, high school colleges (first cycle universities) and universities.
