3 General Information All Academy students are concurrently enrolled as fulltime students in Loudoun County Public Schools, attending the Academies of Loudoun and their home high school on alternating days Transportation is provided to the Academies of Loudoun (LCPS Transportation Office)

5 AET is 1 program, 3 pathways Academy of Engineering & Technology (AET) engineering, entrepreneurship information technology AET is a 4-year program although students have the option to opt out after their first 2 year commitment.

7 Monroe Advanced Technical Academy (MATA) The mission of Monroe Advanced Technical Academy (MATA) is to provide significant and relevant learning in Career & Technical Education (CTE) which allows students to explore and innovate while preparing for 21 st century college and careers. 8 Academy of Engineering & Technology (AET) The foundation of the Academy of Engineering & Technology (AET) is to provide academic STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) pathways for students to engage in the study of Engineering Entrepreneurship Information Technology Students at the AET will develop their creative and enterprising capacities, engage in engineering and research, and have the opportunity to pursue a rich, well-rounded high school experience. All AET courses are honors level courses and are weighted by adding 0.5 to the point value for the grade. AET AP and Dual Enrollment courses are weighted at 1.0 AET is a 4-year program although students have the option to opt out after their first 2-year commitment.
9 AET Engineering Designed for students who wish to engage in an intensive study of engineering, including the engineering design process. All AET Engineering students will be required to complete multiple engineering projects while attending the AET. AET Pathways AET Entrepreneurship Designed for students who are interested in STEM fields and wish to engage in an intensive study of developing, marketing and managing STEM related businesses. All AET Entrepreneurship students will be required to develop multiple, STEM focused business and marketing plans. AET Information Technology (IT) Designed for students who wish to engage in an intensive study of computer science and information technologies. All AET IT students will be required to design, develop and conduct multiple research projects while attending the AET.

15 Academy of Science (AOS) The Academy of Science (AOS) strives to provide students the opportunity to deeply engage in mathematics, science, and research and to promote creativity and innovation through problem solving and collaboration. Students at the AOS will acquire skills to ask sophisticated scientific questions and conduct research and experimentation, to explore the interconnections between the sciences, math, and the humanities; to read, write, and communicate at a level that is required of university students; and to develop perspectives to assess the impact of scientific advancements on society. 20 Academies of Loudoun Admissions Timeline August 16, 2018 admissions window opens for Academies of Loudoun fall 2019 admissions (for AET and AOS programs) through NEW ACL website (closes at 12 pm noon on September 19th). $35 application fee must be paid before application is complete. October 13, PSAT for AOS applicants (not required for AET). If you have a conflict with this date, arrangements will have to be made to take the SAT test on November 3, You must register on or before October 5, 2018 for that test. December 1 or 8, 2018 California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory (CCTDI) January 12, Finalist Assessment California Critical Thinking Skills Test with Numeracy (CCTST-N), writing prompt, and interest statement March/April 2019 Admission offers will be posted in admissions portal April 2019-Students must accept or decline all admissions offers
