CONSENT AGENDA - The Board approved the following items: 1. Personnel Recommendations: a. Peggy Barrett Paraprofessional at South School, Early Childhood b. Susan Simon Full-time Evening Custodian Supervisor at the High School c. Kristopher Pierce Assistant Track Coach at the High School 2. Approval of Student Tour Request 3. Approval of January 2017 Expenditure Report
5 4. Ratification of December 2016 Regular Payroll 5. Resolution to Abate Working Cash Funds INFORMATION/DISCUSSION Capital Projects Review of Remaining 2016 Working Cash Bond The summer 2016 security renovation projects have been completed ahead of schedule and under budget. The Steering Committee reviewed the remaining balance of the bond money and discussed possible projects that could be undertaken with the remaining funds. The Board reviewed the list and discussed prioritizing the projects. Summer School Kevin Carey provided the Board with an update on the plans for summer school and stated that the final plans will be brought to the Board in the near future. ACTION ITEMS Authorization to Pay Pepper Construction Company The Board approved the motion as presented, which allows the Treasurer to pay the latest bill from Pepper once it is corrected. SUPERINTENDENT S REPORT Kindergarten Registration Registration in CUSD 201 for incoming kindergarten students for the school year will take place at both J.T. Manning Elementary School and C.E. Miller Elementary School beginning Monday, April 10 through Friday, April 14, :00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. If you are unable to register on the assigned days, please contact the school office to make other arrangements. Please note that it is not necessary for children to accompany their parents/guardians to be registered. Budget Staffing Timeline - The Administrative Team has started the staffing and budget process for the school year. The Board reviewed a copy of the timeline that will be followed, included are the dates when information will be discussed with the Board. Communications The Board of Education is hosting an open house and re-dedication of Westmont High School. The open house will take place on Tuesday, January 31 at 7:00pm. Community members will have an opportunity to tour the high school and see the changes that were made. Update on Meeting Minutes/Agendas/Curriculum Update Included in Board Docs are recent minutes, agendas and updates for the Board to review. Future Meetings/Events (as stated at the Meeting) Preschool Screening February 9 th By appointment only School Board Meeting February 7:00 p.m. Westmont Village Hall
