FINANCIAL AID 18-19 Updates to the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) All students attending college next year should plan to file a FAFSA FAFSA is now available October 1, 2017 Families will use 2016 tax info for reporting income Students & parents will need to create an FSA ID in order to file FAFSA online Oregon/State financial aid information is forthcoming - check CMC email and website for updates
Internship Experience at CMC Meets state requirements for Career-Related Learning and Extended Application Credit is.50 in SP on transcript (pass/fail) and completed during fall term of senior year Components include: Assignments through Internship Experience class website 20 hour Internship (includes evaluation from site) Professional Exit Interview Experience (completed at site) All hours, assignments, paperwork and interview due at the end of Fall term - by December 8th
College Readiness Seminar (College Prep) Senior Meetings (College Programs) Reminder that it meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:50-9:30 for College Prep students (required for College Prep students and will focus on completion of Internship Experience) Earning Elective credit each term for participation Seniors in Pathways and CEO program are required to complete all online assignments, internship hours & meet individually with Internship Experience Coordinator to meet participation requirements.
CMC Counseling/College & Career Center Support Individual meetings with your counselor a minimum of once per term (or more if needed) for advising, academic planning, college applications, financial aid, social/emotional support Onsite drop-in assistance with internship placement, resume building, career development with Internship Experience coordinator Group meetings: Advisory for College Prep, College Readiness Symposium days Access online resources on CMC website: Students can check the College and Career Center site under Students. CMC Attendance Policy Students are expected to attend class 100% of the time Reminder that if you miss class, you need to contact your instructor to make up time and work as soon as possible All absences are counted towards the total number of absences, however, it is helpful to provide documentation of absences (i.e. doctor s notes) Absences will be calculated on a per class basis. If you miss 10 or more days in any one class you will not receive credit for that class regardless of your final grade. If you miss 6 or more classes, you will not be able to participate in CMC s college programs.
GRADUATION INFORMATION CMC Graduation Ceremony is May 31st at 7:00pm at Rolling Hills Church in Tualatin There will be a mandatory rehearsal earlier that day at 12:00pm Students must be on track to pass all classes needed for graduation in order to walk All testing and work samples must be completed by May 18th in order to walk Valedictorians/Salutatorians will be identified based on GPA after Winter term grades are posted Graduation speakers and performers will be identified by the end of Winter term
