Dear Parents & Caregivers, It has been a wonderful semester and it is hard to believe that we halfway through the year. Once again, we celebrate the dedication, planning and commitment from staff, students and parents. Our school community achieved a great deal this year and some of the highlights across the school have been extremely representative of our school motto COMMITMENT, ACHIEVEMENT, RESPONSIBILITY and ENGAGEMENT Congratulations and thank you to our student African Drumming and Dance group and Hip Hop dancers who under the guidance of Mrs Santoro, Mrs Templeman, Melissa Borgen, Emily Cooper and John may together now celebrate an amazing achievement as the students auditioned and successfully gained entry into the 2018 Blue Mountains Performing Dance Festival at the Joan Sutherland Centre. A fantastic community effort and great work to all our student performers! Our students shone this semester in so many aspects of school life. Students participated in Swimming Carnival and Cross Country events, our inter school Winmalee Cup teams competed in Junior and Senior Soccer and the Junior and Senior Netball teams played against many other local schools. Students represented Warrimoo Primary School at the Regatta Centre, for the Blue Mountains Zone Cross Country, attended Springwood ANZAC march and services. Again our staff and parents lead our students in developing skills and teamwork that they displayed with great honour and were fantastic and exemplary school ambassadors. Warrimoo students participated in a National Walk Safely to School Day, extra-curricular events such as yoga, ukulele, Operation Art program, library author visit, Cyber Safety, Drug Education and Jump Rope for Heart programs and varied excursions and incursions this semester. Parent School Engagement Programs included Annual School Plan, The Reading Ripple Effect, P&C meetings and our big Community Breakfast. Our P&C led fundraising events including Mother s Day events, disco, canteen, school gardens, uniform shop and the many parent volunteers in classes who support our class programs each week. At Warrimoo Public School our aim is to develop an inclusive, differentiated and successful learning environment for all students. Our ultimate goal is to promote lifelong learning where students can take their place in the wider community. Thank you students, teachers and parents for a fabulous Semester One! Semester One Reports All students received their class report last Friday that outlined their progress throughout Semester One. Achievement and effort are indicated on these reports and the comments provide further details. Please read through the report with your child and reassure them that striving for their personal best is most important to remember. Class teachers are always happy to arrange to meet with parents/carers and work in partnership to support each student working towards achieving their personal learning goals.

Lost Property As we approach the end of the week it comes as a timely reminder to all our families that the lost property has again grown with many jumpers and jackets unclaimed. Please visit the lost property that will be located each morning in the courtyard to check the many unclaimed items. Remember to label all your child s clothing. Thank you! School Photos Today student and class photos will be sent home. End of Term Arrangements Last Day of Term As mentioned in last week s newsletter, the last day of Term Two is this Friday 6 th July and all children are invited to celebrate our last day and come dressed in your warmest pyjamas! Principal s Assembly GOLD AWARDS SEMESTER 1 2018 This semester the Principal s Assembly is on Thursday 5th July. We look forward to celebrating our recipient s award presentations and know that they have worked hard to achieve their three silver awards. Staff Changes Term 3 I would like to share some staffing changes for next term. I will be commencing extended personal leave until the end of Term 4.
