M A Y - 1 3-2 0 1 6 Emerald Coast Middle School Home of the Stingrays Stingray Station News Volume 2 Issue 30 Celebrating Earth Day Art students celebrated Earth Day by recycling water bottles to create 3 hanging chandeliers. Artist, Dale Chihuly, and his colorful, organic, hand blown glass pieces inspired students. Students worked together to paint over 350 water bottles, cut them into spirals, and attach them to a wire armature following a specific color scheme. It was a challenging, but very rewarding project for all involved. This creation proves that one man s trash can indeed be another man s treasure. Mark the Date!
