Secondary School Applications For September 2018 The statutory closing date for applications from parents of Year 6 children (for a secondary school place in Year 7 from September 2018) is 31 st October 2017. On Friday 13 th October, St John Fisher Girls football team attended the West Essex football tournament, which was being held at Colebrook Royals FC. The girls were in good spirits as they arrived and continuously throughout the day. They finished top of their group after winning all of their four matches and made it through to the finals stage of the competition. After tough semi-finals match vs Hereward, SJF narrowly lost on penalties, setting up a bronze medal match vs Waltham Holy Cross. The girls showed great determination and strength, which lead them to a 2-0 victory; claiming third place and the bronze medal. Year 5 and 6 Boys The boys went to a Football Festival last Friday at Chigwell. They lost the first match but carried on to win the remaining five. They were excellent and, great mentors for next year s team. The boys also played against Alderton School. This was a league match, which they won 13:0. With the help of his team, Harry Amass scored 10 goals out of 13. I am proud to be their coach and look forward to the upcoming games.
