Distinguished Level of Achievement Default Plan for Frisco ISD In order to be considered for Top Ten Percent Automatic Admission in Texas Public Universities, graduates MUST earn the Distinguished Level of Achievement. University of Texas Currently is Top Six Percent

Rank and GPA Weighted grade points are used to determine rank in class. Courses taken in grades 9 12 through the regular school year will be used for GPA calculation. See the course academic guide for any exceptions to this rule. Courses taken in middle school for high school credit will be used for GPA calculation. Honor Graduate status is given to students with a 4.0 or higher GPA.

How Grade Points are Awarded Grade points are assigned each semester. The number of grade points assigned depends on the level of the course taken. Grade Point Average (GPA) is calculated by dividing the total number of grade points by the number of courses taken. Release Periods Seniors may request a release period Maximum of 2 Morning or Afternoon (any combination) Early Release or Late Arrivals will be adjusted if in conflict with selected courses. Release periods are not a priority. The best way to prepare for college is to take challenging courses.

Athletes Football only during the fall semester Volleyball only during the fall semester If you do not play a spring sport, then you will need to choose a class for the spring.

Do not add Dual Credit classes to this sheet.

Course Selections Approval from your Math, Science and English teachers is required! Draw a line beside your Math course, your Science course and your English course. Ask your teacher to sign-off on your selection Make sure you have 8 total classes on your card including release periods. If you want to make a change, draw 1 line through the course and write the new course in the blank to the right Make sure you include 4 good alternate choices Parent Signature is required!

Making a Schedule Change The master schedule will be based on the choices you have made on your schedule cards. Please review the courses very carefully! Deadline to make changes is April 13 th After April 13 th, only approved program changes (in or out of athletics, band, etc.) will be allowed through the second week of each semester.

Sign Up for the Mock SAT Exam offered by our National Honor Society Registration is through MyPaymentsPlus Mock SAT Saturday, February 17 th These are offered in the fall and spring each year. Cost is $10 per exam.
