ZAP Enrollment On March 23 th, a package of information will be sent home with students concerning next year s enrollment. Included in this will be the Course Description books which contains information about graduation requirements, valedictorian policy, etc. Also included are the courses your student has chosen for next year as well as a NEW Enrollment Form for the 2016-17 school year. Please review the class choices with your child before the ZAP enrollment sessions and return the Enrollment Form at your appointment on March 31 th or. April 1 st Personal Financial Literacy Passport- 14 objectives that will be embedded in Math of Finance, ROTC and Career Ready 101 or see Mrs. Garroutte for TTCU online Personal Financial Literacy class information.
HONORS CLASSES There will be no Honors level courses for English 3, English 4, US History 1 and 2 and World History. The above classes will be offered as AP (Advanced Placement) and on-level only. All others will remain the same. Honors English 1 and 2 will now be referred to as Pre-AP English 1 and 2.
Because. This aligns our curriculum with all other schools in Oklahoma. Class sizes will be more uniform. Enrollment in AP should increase. More students will be prepared for the rigor of college. No other subjects have 3 levels. Having some Honors students in on-level classes will increase expectation in class.

AP Courses vs. Concurrent Advanced Placement 1. Students can remain at school with peers and familiar teachers. 2. Rigorous coursework will prepare them for college that may lead to better participation, performance, and completion in college. This includes students that choose not to take the AP exam. (Exam is $92 for one, $66 each for more than one, free/reduced rate is $22) 3. Students may earn college credit while attending high school. 4. Students must enroll in at least 3 AP classes to meet the valedictorian requirement for CHS. 5. Students receive a weighted grade of 1.0. 6. There is no entrance requirement Concurrent 1. Students receive free tuition at RSU (books and other fees are the responsibility of the student) 2. Students experience college level classes while receiving college credit. 3. Students may receive high school credit as well (most classes count as 0.5 credit for entire term). 4. RSU is close by so travel is a minimum. 5. Different coursework is offered that CHS might not have available. 6. Student may participate in extracurricular activities at CHS, but OSSAA eligibility rules still apply. 7. Students must apply for both admission to RSU and for concurrent enrollment to participate.
VALEDICTORIAN POLICY (Changed for Class of 2017 and beyond) CHANGE.Students must have completed 8 Credits of weighted classes. (3 AP) Used to be 10 credits. Must be from the following areas: Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, World Language, Fine Arts. Obtain a 4.0 or better weighted grade point average by the end of the 3 rd block of Sr. Year. Must not have any final grade below a B (except a C in an AP class).

Career Technology Center Cooperative Alliance Student can earn college credits towards an Associates Degree in Applied Science for coursework completed in their NTC program Concurrent coursework can be completed on campus for College Algebra, Cellular Biology, and Anatomy Physiology. Workforce WorkKeys test- job assessment system that measures workplace skills is available for all seniors. Please make arrangements with your counselors.
End of Instruction Tests (EOI s) (ACE requirement) Students are required to pass 4 of the 7 EOI s that are given during high school. Algebra 1* English 2/English 3* US History Biology Algebra 2 Geometry *Algebra and English are 2 of the 4 that are required.

OKLAHOMA S PROMISE Pays In-state tuition at colleges in Oklahoma. Family income of $50,000 or less to qualify. Must apply by June 30 following soph. year. Must graduate with a 2.5 GPA in the 17 core requirements AND overall. Must be on a College Bound Computer or World Language Grad Plan to qualify.
