Behavior & Responsibility

Middle School Organization All students take language arts, math, science, and social studies five days per week. Spanish or Reading Specials (art, music, PE, and health) occur on an A-day/B-day schedule. Each grade level has a dean who coordinates parent conferences, field trips, and other grade level events.

Middle School Organization (continued) Sixth grade academic classes are held in the sixth grade wing of the building. We have one dean, three administrators, and THREE school counselors who work with our sixth grade students. Your child will be in excellent hands!

Homework Homework expectations will vary between teachers, but most weeks there will be homework every night. If you are not seeing homework for a period of time, this should be a warning sign that your child is not keeping up with his or her schoolwork.

Online Gradebook Your child will receive an online gradebook account, which will allow both you and your child 24-hour/day access to his/her progress in all classes. (Bcps One/Schoology) We have found that effective utilization of the gradebook leads to success in the classroom.
