They will be recognized at the final PTSA meeting on May 23rd and will receive their certificates and medallions. Our students logged 14,213 hours during this 12 month period. Cheerleading Tryouts Begin, 4:00, Aux. Gym Free Sports Physicals Saturday, June 4th, 11:30 a.m. at D1 Sports Training Complex, which is located at 1901 Mooney Street off of Stratford Road by Hanes Mall. This is for all rising 9th 12th graders attending RJR next year. Students must arrive with a fully completed sports physical packet. If any information is missing, they will not be seen by a doctor. Sports Celebration was a success! Thank you to all of the Booster Club volunteers who made Wednesday night such a wonderful success for the athletes, coaches and families. Come learn now what you need to know to have a productive summer and to prepare for applications, scholarships, and more. Please join the Class of 2016 at Baccalaureate on Sunday, June 5 at 5:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Ardmore Baptist Church. While all families of seniors and junior marshals should have received invitations in the mail in recent days, all members of the Reynolds community are welcome to attend this meaningful faith based service that will include musical selections and personal reflections presented by members of the Class of 2016. If your student will be taking Honors Math 3 or Honors Discrete Math in the 2016 2017 school year, please be sure that he/she picks up a summer packet before final exams start this year. Honors Math 3 students can pick up packets from Ms. Zimmerman in Room 302 and Honors Discrete Math students can pick up packets from Mr. Gerringer in Room 320. These packets will provide a math review that will help them be successful in class in the upcoming school year. The packets will be due the first day of the new school year and will be assessed the first week of class. We look forward to working with you and your student in the

The competition was between teachers in all 20 magnet schools. One teacher and one principal were selected to represent the district and go to the Magnet Schools of America Conference in Miami. Terry Hicks Quarter finalist for a 2017 Grammy Music Educator of the Year 290 Quarter finalists Selected tor 2017 Music Educator Award www.grammyintheschools.com A total of 290 music teachers from 264 cities across 41 states have been announced as quarter finalists for the Music Educator Award presented by The Recording Academy and the GRAMMY Foundation. In total, more than 3,300 initial nominations were submitted from all 50 states. The Music Educator Award was established to recognize current educators (kindergarten through college, public and private schools) who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of music education and who demonstrate a commitment to the broader cause of maintaining music education in the schools.

It has been another year of creating portraits for the memory project a project made possible by the kindness of former RJR teacher Angel Caudill. This year, Drawing 2 students worked with an orphanage in Bolivia. If you have a minute, check out the video link below and also the images of some of the children receiving their portraits from our students. The memory project also has other programs where classes can make journals to send to orphanages as well as other projects for the less creative. If you are interested, check them out. It is always rewarding for students to see the impact they can have on others

The program integrates humanitarian causes with art, world cultures, and foreign language. If you need to "feel the feels for real", the video is heartfelt, uplifting, and touching. ATHLETICS Congratulations Bennett Crane, National High School Tennis All American
Spring Sports Update Baseball and Softball seasons ended with loses to West Forsyth in the CPC Tournament. Boys Lacrosse lost to Page in the first round of the state playoffs. Girls Lacrosse lost to Ardrey Kell in the first round of the state playoffs. Boys Golf placed 12th at the NCHSAA state championships. Boys Tennis will host Southwest Guilford in the state quarterfinals on Monday at Hanes Park at 4:30. Girls Soccer missed out on the state playoffs by just one game. Girls and Boys Track will be in the state championships at NC A&T on Saturday. All of the teams' schedules are on the school website.
