Transition Program CAV CONNECTION 9 th Grade Transition Day, August 22, 2017 Students come to PA by bus Students then spend the afternoon in sessions led by teachers and upperclassmen We feed the students dinner Parents attend a parent only meeting in the auditorium Parents meet students in the gym for a pep rally Students give their parents a tour of the building
Transition Program Mentoring Program CAV CONNECTION Developed by our students for our students One Junior or Senior mentor per five 9 th graders Meet twice in September and then once a month the first semester of school for mentoring and/or other important activities including Commit to Graduate and Leadership Workshop Round-up
Scheduling 90 minute block schedule A days and B days Ninth grade students register for eight blocks and take a minimum of six academic classes.
Scheduling PA start time is 7:20 a.m. Our release time is 2:10 p.m. All rising ninth graders will have an academic support block.

Athletic/Activity Participation A student must pass 5 subjects during the preceding semester and must be enrolled in 5 subjects in the current semester. Students must earn at least a 2.0 grade point average each semester. Grades earned in the preceding semester determine eligibility for the following semester. Audited courses do not count as one of the 5 passing subjects needed to participate in activities.
