CSIR-NISCAIR OPEN DAY ON IISF CSIR-NISCAIR OPEN DAY As part of CSIR Platinum Jubilee Foundation Day celebrations, organised the exhibition Indian Raw Materials & Products Expo showcasing our Herbarium and Museum, and also Climatoons [Climate Change Informatics (CCI)], Printing Facility and Multimedia studio (SCM division) at NISCAIR, Vigyan Sanchar Bhawan on 27 September, 09:00-01:00 p.m. It was a challenge as this particular event was not conducted for the past eight years. However, with the unstinting support from the committee members, and NISCAIR staff, we could make this event a grand success with participation of about 1300 students from approximately 20 schools and colleges in and around Delhi. To create awareness as well as to ensure maximum participation of students in the India International Science Festival (IISF), scheduled for December, we at CSIRNISCAIR organised an open day on 16 November at Vigyan Sanchar Bhawan. About 500 students/research scholars from approximately five schools/colleges/institutes in and around Delhi participated at this event. It is pertinent to mention that the Manav Sthali School, R-Block, New Rajinder Nagar New Delhi, motivated by us through our NSICAIR awareness program on IISF, actively participated in great numbers in IISF and thereby achieving a record breaking gathering of school students under one forum.
