Additional Information on the Elmira District Soccer Camp Why choose Elmira Soccer? The Elmira District soccer camp provides training by coaches and players that have, themselves, been educated in the game. Members of the staff have taken and passed prestigious courses provided by the United States Soccer Federation and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and/or have played the game at higher levels bringing a wealth of knowledge to the camp as a whole. When and where is the camp? Dates: 8/3/15 8/7/15 Times: 9:00 am 11:00 am Where: How much does the camp cost? $60 (this includes FIVE days of quality training and a camp T-shirt). This fee is NON-REFUNDABLE due to camp scheduling/ planning and ordering of camper merchandise. What is the deadline to register for the camp? All applications must be received by August 3rd, 2015. Elmira Soccer Camp Curriculum Elmira District Soccer Camp (Grades K 6): At this age, kids are developing at a rapid rate. Each training session is based around maximizing the number of touches each player receives on the ball. Every player will have their own ball to work with and down time between activities is limited to ensure players get the most out of each day. The formula is simple: the more work the player gets with the ball, the more comfortable they become with it at their feet. Early development of these technical skills is essential to develop complete players as they mature. Players will be taught proper technique in shooting, distribution, and receiving while playing games that are fast-paced and fun. Every day is structured to be not only enjoyable, but informative and purposeful. Is there anything I need to bring to camp? Each camper should come dressed to play. Proper attire would be shorts, a T-shirt, and either soccer shoes or sneakers. Shin guards are mandatory. Water is provided. Many players like to bring their own sports drink for the sessions. Goalkeepers must provide their own goalkeeping gloves if desired. Players should bring their own ball. What if a player is injured? Coach Hamilton and Coach Sarno are certified in both First Aid, CPR/Defibrillation, and concussion protocol. Where can I find more information on Elmira District Soccer? Website http://eteamz.active.com/elmirasoccer/ Additional Questions? Additional questions can be asked via e-mail to Coach Hamilton (dhamilton14905@yahoo.com) or phone at (607) 425-2709. Elmira Soccer Camp Curriculum Elmira District Soccer Camp (Grades 7 12): Players usually begin to develop a more in depth understanding of the game between these ages. Technical ability will be sharpened as players will begin to read the game and focus on what they are supposed to do rather than simply kicking the ball downfield. Each training session will be designed around a particular aspect of play allowing each player to focus on one technique at a time for maximum understanding. Positional roles, fitness, and decision-making will all be covered during this week of play. Current college players will assist in showing campers correct technique and positioning. Small-sided games will be the catalyst behind many of the training sessions exposing players to multitude of potential problems and maximizing decision-making opportunities. Goalkeepers will also be introduced at this age level and will learn correct technique on catching, throwing, diving, parrying, positioning, and fitness. Coach Hamilton and Coach Sarno both possess an NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma and to demonstrate correct technique, proper positioning, distribution, and rationale behind decision-making in goal throughout the camp. Goalkeepers will begin to understand the importance of using their feet as well as their hands, their role as the last line of defense and the first player to begin the attack, as well as leadership qualities that are essential for any successful goalkeeper. What if a player is injured?
