STEVE CLARIDGE FOOTBALL FOUNDATION THE CONSTANTINE ACADEMY TRUST

COURSES BTEC Sport The Foundation offers two different levels of BTEC qualifications for students looking at further education or to gain a greater knowledge of the sports industry which can lead to sports based employment. The level 3 extended diploma is for students who achieve 5 GCSE S at C grade (level 4/5 with new government changes) and once complete students will receive the equivalent to 3 A Levels. There is also the option of the level 2 BTEC for students who do not meet the entry requirements of the level 3. This is so that students who wish to complete the level have the opportunity to gain the knowledge that will help reach the required standard of the higher qualification. Each course will look at a range of subjects within the Sports industry, these include: Anatomy and physiology Sports coaching Fitness training Team and individual sports Nutrition Organising sports events Technical and tactical aspects of sport Psychology Health and safety within sport Both courses are coursework based allowing students to excel in the classroom and apply this knowledge to practical sporting settings. Apprenticeships Apprenticeships provide a great way to combine work with study, enabling learners to gain experience at the same time as taking nationally recognised qualifications and earning a salary. This educational pathway offers students the opportunity to work in more of a practical environment. This option provides students with knowledge of the Sports coaching industry while gaining qualifications that will make them more employable in the future. There are no entry requirements for this pathway, just the enthusiasm and desire to learn and succeed in the sport and coaching industry. Providing a mixture of classroom based learning and practical on the job experience, students will have the opportunity to apply the skills and understanding in local schools, football clubs and within the foundation itself. Courses on offer: 1 st 4Sport Activity Leadership Level 2 and NVQ Level 3 Diploma in the Delivery of PE and School sport
