High Wage Benchmarks Average hourly earnings should exceed the state or Kansas City area median. Kansas City area - 2014 Median Hourly Earnings $20.52 (EMSI, 2014). Missouri 2014 Median Hourly Earnings $18.69 (EMSI, 2014).
High Demand Benchmarks At least 100 annual job openings statewide on average, or at least 50 annual job openings in the Kansas City MSA on average, OR projected annual growth rate in jobs exceeds state or local average. 2.3% overall growth projected from 2014 to 2019 in the Kansas City Metropolitan area (EMSI, 2014). 3.5% overall growth projected from 2014 to 2019 in the state of Missouri (EMSI, 2014).

Bio-Manufacturing and Beer This analysis will include economic and labor insight data for occupations related to bio-manufacturing and beer brewing, as well as existing beer brewing educational opportunities (credit and non-credit). The training, certificates and degrees for this industry serve a vast variety of students that include: Industrial brewers Beer entrepreneurs Hobby brewers
Educational Opportunities Only local class available - Communiversity College programs o Central Washington University: Craft Beer Trade Certificate o Colorado State University: Beverage Business Institute o Oregon State University o University of California- Davis Extension o Four community colleges are currently developing both noncredit and credit programs. A number of online classes and non-credit trainings are currently available.

Brewer In a nationwide search for postings containing brewer in the position title (within the Food Batchers occupational category) over the previous 12 month period, 70 applicable postings were returned. The majority of the positions are located in Hawaii, Oregon and Washington.
