High Wage Benchmarks Average hourly earnings should exceed the state or Kansas City area median. Kansas City area - 2014 Median Hourly Earnings $20.52 (EMSI, 2014). Missouri 2014 Median Hourly Earnings $18.69 (EMSI, 2014).

High Demand Benchmarks At least 100 annual job openings statewide on average, or at least 50 annual job openings in the Kansas City MSA on average, OR projected annual growth rate in jobs exceeds state or local average. 2.3% overall growth projected from 2014 to 2019 in the Kansas City Metropolitan area (EMSI, 2014). 3.5% overall growth projected from 2014 to 2019 in the state of Missouri (EMSI, 2014).
