ANNUAL ADM & TECHNICAL INSPECTION Annual Adm & Tech Inspection was carried out in the school on 26 & 27 Sep 2016. Brig Vikrant Naik, Cdr, HQ 785 (I) AD Bde, Col J P Singh (Retd), Addl Dir (AWES) HQ Delhi Area, Mr Subhash Joshi, Principal, APS Beas, Lt Col Atul Dang & Maj Dipankar Sharma were deputed to carry out the inspection. In the technical inspection, the visiting team assessed the methodology adopted by the teachers, professional training being imparted in the school, library, laboratories, classrooms and audio visual rooms. It is matter of great pride that the inspecting team has graded Army Public School, Dagshai as Outstanding a feat which has been achieved the very first time in the last ten years. 2 SAMC MEETING Brig R S Rawat, VSM, Commandant, 14 GTC & Chairman, APS Dagshai visited the school on 01 Sep 2016 for School Administrative and Management Committee Meeting. On the occasion, he also released the copy of the school newsletter, The Echo. STUDENTS EXCHANGE PROGRAMME Thirty six students from Bhawan Vidhayala, the No. 1 Day School of Chandigarh, accompanied by four teachers visited the school on 12 Nov 2016. They were taken around the school campus and to the residential houses of the students.the students from Bhawan Vidhalaya enjoyed happy hour in the students mess.

State Level Schools League Basketball Tournament (Boys & Girls) State Level Schools League Basketball Tournament was held at Sai Vision School, Bhareri from 11-12 Oct 2016. Our Basketball Girls Team won the tournament and were awarded a cash reward of Rs 25000/- whereas the Boys team was Runners up and were awarded a cash reward of Rs 15000/-. Distt Level Exhibition & Project Competition Two students of the school, Anshuman Singh of Class-IX and Laksh Sharma of Class-XI participated in the 6 th District Level Exhibition and Project Competition from 27 Sep to 29 Sep 2016 under Inspire Award Scheme organized at L R Group of Institutes by the Deputy Directorate of Higher Education (H.P). The students made models of Smart City and Li-fi and the same were selected for the state level exhibition. The projects were greatly appreciated in the State level exhibition. State Level Painting Competition Three students of our school, Rigzen Chospel, Tashika and Mannat Verma participated in a State Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Ministry of Power India) in collaboration with Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited, Shimla at Raj Bhawan on 09 Nov 2016. 100 paintings were selected from a total of 542000 paintings. IPSC Boxing Championship APS Dagshai participated in the IPSC Boxing Championship organized by Rashtriya Military School, Dholpur from 01 Sep to 04 Sep 2016. Diya Tanwar was adjudged as the second Best speaker in the English Debate. The team participating in the Hindi Debate stood on the fourth position amongst the seven participating schools. 6
CBSE Cluster football Tournament (U-19 Boys) was held at DAVHamirpur from 14-16 Oct 2016 in which a total of 33 schools participated. INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE PRESERVATION OF THE OZONE LAYER 16 Sep has been designated as the International Day for the preservation of the Ozone layer by the United Nations General Assembly. VIDHYARTHI VIGYAN MANTHAN Under the guidelines of CBSE, a national talent search exam named Vidhyarthi Vigyan Manthan was conducted in the school on 20 Nov 2016 in which 180 students from Classes VI - X participated under two categories. The aim of the talent search exam is to provide a platform to the students based on scientific temperament and take up career based on science subjects. CONSTITUTION DAY Another initiative taken up by CBSE to promote constitutional values among the students is the celebration of the Constitution Day. TEACHERS DAY Teachers Day was celebrated in the school on 05 Sep 2016. A variety concert by the students was put up for the teachers. Teachers Vs students friendly Volleyball match was organized in the school playfield. The teachers won the match. HINDI DIWAS Hindi Diwas was celebrated in the school on 14 Sep 2016. Students expressed their view about the importance of Hindi as a language in the morning assembly. Students also recited poems in Hindi to mark the o c c a s i o n. CHILDRENS DAY Childrens Day was celebrated in the school on 14 Nov 2016.The boys of Subhash House were taken to Polo Ground for local trekking. The girls of Indira House and boys of Patel house were taken to Solan for an outing under supervision of teachers. Some studenst were also taken to the Gurudwara for community langar on the occasion of Gurpurab. DUSSHERA CELEBRATION Dusshera was celebrated in the school playfield on 11 Oct 2016. An effigy of Ravana was burnt to signify the victory of good over evil. DIWALI CELEBRATION Diwali the festival of lights was celebrated on 30 Oct 2016. CAREER COUNSELLING Workshop on Teen Empowerment by Canan Consultants Chandigarh was conducted for Classes IX & X at APS Dagshai on 30 Sep 2016. * A representative from Chandigarh University came for a career counselling session at Army Public School Dagshai on 12 Nov 2016. The counselling session was to enlighten the students about various courses in the Chandigarh University. * Mr Vivek Khanna from ITC group of hotels came for a career counselling session at Army Public School, Dagshai to inform the students about career in the hospitality industry and how to enter it. * A career counselling session for class X was conducted by Crest Counselling Services on 17 Nov 2016. The students took the psycho matrics test to choose the vocation of their choice and study the corresponding subjects to pursue the vocation.
