Our Primary 6 students are gearing up for the PSLE written examinations, we wish them all the best and may they gain entry into the secondary school of their choice. A. Students 1. Accolades Our ex-student, Lim Yick Liang, Kagen was awarded the Singapore Police Force Scholarship on 7 Jul 2016. Look Sze Hng (3 Sin) clinched a Silver medal at the Open World Mathematics Invitational and a Bronze Award in Grade 3 Division at the Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge. Wang Yiqing (6 Gra), Heok Yee Han, Jovian (6 Res) and Lee Xavia (6 Car) came in third at the National Environment Quiz 2016. We were conferred the Best Biodiversity award at the Community in Bloom Gardeners Cup 2016 (Singapore Garden Festival). At the SHHK 5-School Combined Chinese Essay Writing Competition, Teo Zi Ying (6 Gra) came in first position while Daisy Liow Han Yi (3 Gra), Sheryl Chu (4 Gra) and Sia Jia Rui (6 Gra) was awarded the Merit award. Aw AnYa (2 Obs), Tay Li Xuan (2 Obs) and Matthew Lim Yu Han (2 Uni) attained the Merit prize at the Moo-O Chinese Award 2016. Our students performed well at the Pesta Bahasa Utara organized by Chong Pang Community Club. Ismahani binte Amad Ibrahim (1 Gra), Falashiena Mareesha binte Firman Hakim (1 Res) and Muhammad Mustaqim Bin Mustafah (1 Ach) achieved first in position for the folk songs. Mohamad Adrean Irhaz Bin Mohamad Nirman (3 Obs) came in second for the Syair Recitation. Fizikim Zafir Bin Firman Hakim and Muhammad Mustaqin Bin Abdullah (4 Inn) were awarded first prize for the Pantun. Mohamed Iman Danish Bin Mohamed Raimi (5 Res) was third in placing for the Sajak Recitation. Muhammad Ilhan Bin Emran (6 Ach) and Misya Salsabila Binte Ahmad Syafii (6 Obs) attained the third prize for the P6 Language Rap. Our students clinched a total of 12 Distinction, 34 Credit and 10 Merit at the International Competition and Assessment for Schools (Digital Technologies) Janelle Lee (6 Gra) and Siah Xin Jie (4 Res) attained commendation award at the Heartfelt Photography competition. The Brownies participated in the North Division Wide Games Challenge and clinched the third position.
2. Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) The dates for the P6 students are as follows: Listening Comprehension (LC) 16 September 2016 (Friday) Written Papers 29 September 2016 (Thursday) to 05 Oct 2016 () P1 to P5 students are not be required to report to school on 16 September 2016 (Friday). They will engage in online learning tasks and assignments from home via our school Learning Management System (LMS) - http://lms.asknlearn.com/cfs. Students who have no PC or internet access at home can either access internet at the National Libraries or visit our computer labs from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm on this day. Please note that lessons are as per normal during the PSLE Written papers for P1 to P5 students. All P6 students are to continue to report to school from 06 October 2016 (Thursday) till the last school day of Term 4, as they would be engaged in post-examination programmes and activities. Please note that all existing afternoon classes for P6 students will not be conducted from 28 September 2016 () onwards. 3. Children s Day Donation Envelope The students would be receiving a donation envelope from the Community Chest. We strongly encourage our students to make a donation as this is one way where they could show care to others. 4. E-Learning Day An E-Learning Exercise will be conducted for all our students on 18 November 2016 (Friday). All students are not required to report to school on this day and will instead login to our school Learning Management System (LMS) - http://lms.asknlearn.com/cfs to be engaged in some online tasks. The objective of this exercise is to allow our P1 to P5 students to reflect, consolidate and assimilate their learning and experiences this year. For our P6 students, they will be penning down their reflection and appreciation for their teachers and schoolmates. 5. Release of Report Books All P1 to P5 students will receive their report books by 15 November 2016 (Tuesday). Please sign your child s/ward s report book and return to the form teacher of your child/ward by 16 November 2016 (). P6 students would receive their report books on the day when PSLE results are released.
6. School Hours for Students in 2017 All students are to report to school by 7.25 am on Tuesday, 03 January 2017. This is the current practice for CCAs on Friday. Please liaise with the bus company directly. B. Administration 1. Travel Declaration If you have a child/ward in P1, please make a declaration of your child s/ward s travel plans during the school holidays. A NIL return is required even if you are not planning to travel. For children of other levels (P2 P6), please make a declaration of your child s/ward s travel plans if your child/ward is travelling out of Singapore. To declare your child s/ward s travel plans, please login to the school s Learning Management System (LMS) using the Parent Portal account at http://lms.asknlearn.com/cfs/parentlogon.aspx by Friday, 11 November 2016. Attached is the step-by-step guide. If there are changes to your travel plans after your submission, please update us by resubmitting your amended travel plans online. It is important that information provided on your child s/ward s travel plans is as accurate and current as possible.
If your child/ward is unwell or develops flu-like symptoms after an overseas trip during this yearend school holidays, please take the following actions immediately: (1) inform the school; (2) bring your child/ward to see a doctor; (3) refrain your child/ward from coming back to school until he/she has recovered. With your support, we will be better able to make the school a safe and healthy environment for all our students. 1. Opening Hours of General Office The school s general office will be opened from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm (Monday to Friday) throughout the year-end school holidays except for Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays. 2. Please notify your child s/ward s Form Teacher should there be any changes to your contact numbers, email addresses, residential addresses and other relevant information.
