Maths Calculations Workshop On Monday 8th February we will be holding Class Calculations Workshops in school. The workshops will be held in each classroom and will be delivered by your child s class teacher. The aim of the workshops is to demonstrate how children are expected to tackle the four basic mathematic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). This will give parents the opportunity to see how our new VCP (maths visual calculations policy) is used to support the daily teaching and learning of maths in school. Hair Styles Could we please ask that pupils do not have their hair cut in extreme hairstyles such as tram lines and number 1 shaves. Long hair should be tied up or clipped back, especially for art lessons, swimming lessons and P.E. Pupils are also not allowed to wear coloured hairsprays. Thank you for your cooperation. Uniform If anybody has any spare uniform or P.E. kits that would fit Reception or Year 1 children please could these be sent into school. As you will appreciate during bad weather pupils quite often need a uniform change. It is also advisable to keep spare underwear, socks and tights in your child s P.E. bag. Music Lessons This week will be last music lesson of the term. If any missed lessons are to be made up during the last week of term the teacher will inform the pupils. Next half term there will be 7 lessons for all instruments except drums for which there will be 6. The cost of the lessons is 5.25 per week ( 36.75 for the half term) or 3.75 per week ( 26.25 for the half term) for Year 5 Wider Opportunity Pupils (first instrument only). Cheques should be made payable to WMBC St Luke s School.
