Summary of Knightdale Area Results Elementary (4 schools) Proficiency and growth results are mixed compared to district averages Often at or above district average with historically lowerachieving subgroups East Wake Middle proficiency below district, but higher growth than district with some subgroups Knightdale High lower proficiency and growth, less AP course taking grad rates just below district average, higher dropout rates and lower ACT scores

Questions to Ponder Some results at elementary and middle school are at or above district averages, particularly for historically underperforming subgroups, but less so for others (AIG, higher SES, etc.). Are the more positive results for some groups possibly coming at the expense of others? Why the significant variability in student outcomes across the four elementary schools? Why are the more positive results in the earlier grades not evident in the upper grades? Why the disconnect between graduation rates and ACT results?
