Friday 7 th July 2017 Dear Parents, Reports: On Monday 10 th you will receive your child s school report. Alongside it there is a slip for you to return to school with your comments. All slips returned will go into a prize drawer, to be pulled at assembly next week. The winning child will receive a book token, you have to be in it to win! Mr Holmes: I am delighted to let you know that on Sunday 25 th June, Kathryn Holmes gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, weighing in at 6lbs 8oz. Lottie -Rose is keeping her Mummy and Daddy very busy and we hope that one day, in the not too distant future, we will meet her. She is the image of Tom! End of year: There is an important change to the end of year organisation that I want to alert you to in advance of Open Afternoon. We have decided to keep the children s current exercise book going for the start of the next academic year. The rationale behind this is that the children immediately give their best work, rather than working up to it over the first term. It also means that the new teachers see the standards set and appropriately raise them! All completed exercise books from this year will be sent home, as will current ones, when they too are completed, However, you may wish to use Open Afternoon to see the standards and progression of this year in their most recent work. The Wimbledon Foundation We are very proud of Rebecca Jones, an ex-pupil of St Mary s (sister Katy is in 5M) who has been chosen by the Wimbledon foundation, representing the Children in Need to perform the coin toss at the Women s Ladies final on Saturday 15 th July. NSPCC Fundraising: After some late donations, we have raised an incredible 7,576.65 was raised in support of the NSPCC! This is truly wonderful and for such an important cause; thank you so much.
