HAPPENINGS Celebrates Dr. Seuss Day! I had the pleasure of joining students from William Lehman Elementary School during their Dr. Seuss s Birthday celebrations. I was delighted to read The Foot Book to students inside their amazingly themed media center. It is great to see all of our students so excited about the joy of reading. Congratulations to Arvida Middle s Girls Flag Football Team for winning the Dade County Championship! Maribel Corona-Villa from Robert Morgan was awarded as a Finalist for the Walter B. Arnold Jr. Youth Hall of Fame Community Service Award. Ed Calle, one of our music teachers from Kenwood K-8 K 8 won a Latin Grammy for Best Instrumental Album.
West Kendall Baptist Hospital Walking School Bus Initiative On March 11, I walked with students and parents from Christina M. Eve Elementary during their participation in the West Kendall Baptist Hospital Walking School Bus initiative. This initiative promotes healthy lifestyle choices, helps minimize traffic and reduce carbon emissions to keep our community environment clean and beautiful. Jordan Marshall & Randy McCray are State Champions in Wrestling from Miami Southridge Sr. High School Arvidia Middle School Dance Team was named National Grand Champions! South Miami Heights Elementary is the proud home of your K K--5 Chess State Champions! Kenwood K-8 Center hosted the GOB Advisory Committee meeting On March 29th, Kenwood K K--8 Center hosted the quarterly meeting of the General Obligation Bond Advisory Board.
