At the Second Session of the Executive Bord, it ws greed tht informtion on plnned project ctivities would be presented to the Bord regulrly to enble its members to keep brest of s in IFAD s project/progrmme pipeline nd prospective lending nd, should they so desire, to comment on plnned projects t n pproprite stge of the project cycle. 2. Prt I of the document provides comprehensive listing, by region nd by stge of processing, of ll projects nd progrmmes tht hve entered the pipeline fter pprovl of the inception memorndum. In ddition, s greed by the Executive Bord in September 2003, Executive Bord members cn find detiled informtion on the IFAD web site on projects/progrmmes tht hve reched n dvnced stge of design nd re thus likely to be presented t one of the Bord s future sessions. Ech of these projects/progrmmes is described in two-pge informtion notes, which re updted upon completion of ech mjor step in the project cycle. 3. In this mnner, the Executive Bord is provided with n ongoing opportunity to review nd comment on IFAD s short- nd medium-term lending proposls. 4. As greed t the Seventy-Second Session of the Executive Bord, Prt II of this document provides informtion on ll country strtegic opportunities ppers (COSOPs) nd subregionl strtegic opportunities ppers (SRESOPs) reviewed to dte by the Opertionl Strtegy nd Policy Guidnce Committee (OSC) nd those reviewed by the Bord. Prt III provides informtion on plnned COSOPs. 5. In response to the 26 December 2004 erthquke in Indonesi nd the ensuing tsunmi in the Indin Ocen, IFAD hs prticipted in joint needs ssessments in Indi, Indonesi, Mldives nd Sri Lnk. IFAD is following up on these needs ssessments with specific progrmme design missions. s re plnned to be submitted for Bord considertion in April or September 2005. Due to resource constrints nd environmentl concerns, IFAD documents re produced in limited quntities. Delegtes re kindly requested to bring their documents to meetings nd to limit requests for dditionl copies.
