As you may know, GLS will have an accreditation team visit the week after Spring Break. Part of the process leading up to this visit is to collect data from various stakeholder groups. Please click on the link provided to give your input about GLS. Our AdvancED accreditation team: Dr. Snodgrass, Tara Bonebrake, Becky Crowder, Jeni Hopkins, Tim Pfeil, Duany Ramos-Goyes, and Debbie Rollinson have been busy analyzing data/surveys. Reflections Entries Due Monday, October 15 This is a reminder that the PTA Reflections Contest entries are due Monday. If you are doing photography, they need both a printed picture and a digital copy. The digital copy can either be emailed to Jennifer Mitchell at osumom20@yahoo.com or sent in on a USB. Sales Packets Have Been Sent Home Turn in orders by October 16 Sales packets were sent home with elementary students on October 2 for Greenwood s PTA Annual Catalog Sales. If secondary students want a catalog, they can stop by the office or email brooke@evanswealthplanning.com and she will send one home. Orders will be turned in October 16th and delivery of the products will be November 14th. There are fun prize incentives for the kids included in the sales packet. Scholastic Book Fair, October 15 19 The book fair will have books for all ages and will take place in the Greenwood cafeteria. It will be open before and after school every day, and during the elementary dance on October 19. Grandparents/Grandfriends Event, Wednesday, October 17 Invite your grandparents to shop with their elementary students after school, while enjoying milk, cookies and coffee. Parent-Teacher Conferences Elementary: Thursday and Friday, October 25 and 26 (No classes for K 5) Secondary: Friday, October 26 (No classes for 6 12) Parents will be receiving links to sign up for each teacher. Elementary conferences are required. Secondary conferences are only needed if there is a problem. If elementary students have junior high math classes, they need to come to the math class or arrange with the teacher for the work. October 11, 2018 Page 3 of 6 Halloween Parade Starts at 1:30 p.m. The K 5 students will be having their annual Halloween parade and parties on October 31st. Parents, friends and relatives are invited to go to the gym and see the students parade in with their costumes. The parties will begin in the classrooms following the parade. Students should wear their regular clothes to school that day and change into their costumes for the parade. Sophomores Take Awards at High School Math Competition Fiona Wu, Lukas Ji and Joshua Cox competed in a Math League competition at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar on October 6. The team won 2nd place team and 1st place sweepstakes for total score. Fiona won 2nd place Target test and 3rd place for all 10th graders. Joshua won 1st place Sprint test, 1st place Target test, 3rd place Individual overall, and 1st place for 10th graders. Lukas also placed in the Top 10 for Individual events. This qualifies them for the state competition. Middle School Basketball Team Wins Fordland Tournament Congratulations to the middle school boys basketball team who won the Fordland tournament on October 5. They beat Seymour 33-30.

District Tennis News Congratulations to Dani Wilson for placing 2nd and Emma Laney for placing 8th in the Individual Districts on Friday, October 5. Senior Dani Wilson will be competing in the Individual Sectionals this week.. She's the 2nd singles seed from Class 1, District 9. Emma and Dani are seen here with Coach Alex Wiley.
