From Principal s Desk Editorial Mind Power Basics What you plant will always determine what you produce. Intentionally plant thoughts that are in alignment with your purpose. Once a thought is taken captive that thought begins to create your life. Our thoughts are vibrations of energy. Our thoughts have a powerful influence on our life. Most of us go through life taking little notice of our thought processes. For the most part, we go about our lives with minimal attention paid to how we think. We go through life neglecting one of the most important and powerful forces in our life: our thoughts. Mind Power is directing our thoughts towards a desired outcome. Focus on success and one attracts success. Focus on fear and failure and one attracts failure. Mind Power is understanding these principles and making our thoughts work for us. Our thoughts are the primary creative forces in our life. When we use them consciously we will awaken to a whole new life of power and opportunity. In order to make changes in our life, we must change the way we use our mind. We cannot think both negative and positive thoughts at the same time, as one will always dominate the other. As humans, we re creatures of habit, and so are our minds. We must empower our with positive emotions to influence our mind. We must train our conscious mind to think thoughts of achievement, success, happiness, health, and prosperity. We must learn to weed out negativity such as fear and worry. We must keep our conscious mind busy with the positive expectation and what we want in life. It s the time of festivals. We have celebrated a joyous Diwali with more lights and less noise and little pollution. Are Teachers limited to the four walls of a classroom? I feel a teacher has a higher calling to not just transmit knowledge, but to encourage new vistas and create worthy empowered and peaceful human beings to take care of this precious planet of ours. The concept of light overpowering darkness is well documented in many ancient religions. Invariably light is always associated with warmth, love, goodness virtues growth justice peace and unity. The dualism between light and darkness invariably ends with victory to light and defeat to darkness, but there is a caveat to the reader that the struggle is eternal and never ending. They have to make an individual effort to promote light and defeat darkness. A teacher is a guru. A guru who leads people from darkness to light.this process itself has to be life changing to the seeker. Religion calls us all to be teachers and beacons of truth and justice to the society. Let this Diwali be one such celebration. A celebration of leading our students from darkness to light, a time for role setting and guidance. Let us all be beacons of virtues of love. Let us shed the pangs of jealousy, anger and desire. Let the lamp for Diwali burn away all our insecurities and let the warmth of the lamp inspire to embrace all as one in humanity. The concept of a new earth is also documented in various religions. The New Earth is an ideal place where both the prey and the predator shall live in complete peace and harmony, where all shall live in complete awareness and love. However, as all religions emphasise, this transition is not for the faint hearted. We all have to struggle as one, constantly and as a team. We have to constantly goad one another to do our little bit to make this world a better place. Make this new world a reality, a place for the truly enlightened. Finally I end with a parable from The Prayer of the Frog by Atony De mello. A woman tourist was admiring a native s necklace What is it made of? she asked : Alligator teethe ma am, said the native Oh, I see, I suppose they have the same value for you people that pearls have for us. Not quite, anyone can open an oyster. The enlightened understand that a diamond is a stone until endowed with value by the human mind. Dr. Nicholas Correa Ms Annie.Kurien. P a g e 2
