With beautiful weather and well rested students our term is set to be a wonderful celebration of the year. N ew Old Sign Bringing History into the Future SENIOR Jye MIDDLE Charlie JUNIOR Tash Congratulations The history of our school is a really special and valued part of who we are and the education we offer. Some time ago I was told of the original school sign that was stored in a shed. When the sign was unearthed, I found this lovely iron sign in really poor condition with the State School number 2060 also there, that had hung under the main frame. Over the past couple of years we have talked about having it restored and repainted but the quotes for sandblasting and powder coating was beyond our budget. I always imagined it at our front entrance proudly stating our history and showing our commitment to education in our community. This year I shared both the sign and the vision with one of our families, Anthea and Allan Locke. Allan who is also instrumental in the local Men s Shed mentioned they were looking for some projects. I never expected that when returning to school this term we would have this beautiful part of our history both restored and installed. If you have not yet seen it please come and have a look, it is amazing how wonderful it looks and just how special it really is. I would like to extend my thanks and gratitude to the wonderful people at the Nathalia Men s Shed for bringing this amazing piece of history back to life.
