A plethora of new exercises was showcased in the Mass PT wherein the students exhibited amazing coordination and deftness in performing the exercises. Inspite of the scorching heat, players representing all the Four Houses of the school, kept up the spirit and enthralled House-Incharge teachers and supporting juniors with a spectacular game. DMCS, Sports Department is delighted to announce that Kalki Eshwar, a student of Grade VII has achieved 1 st place in the Inter School Chess Championship organized by Vidyashilp Academy. A staggering 300 students participated for the mega event wherein Kalki Eshwar stood as the winner. We hereby proudly announce that DMCS student, Sathvik Muchi of Grade III bagged the Silver Medal at Inter School Skating Competition. In yet another tremendous feat, Taniya Arun Kumar of Grade V bagged the Bronze medal at the aforesaid competition; thereby bringing laurels to the alma mater.
Deva Matha Central School students participated in St Michael-Annual Sports Meet, held on 5 th September, 2016. They brought huge laurels to the school by winning 8 silver medals in the 4x100 relay (under 14 and 16 category) - slated for girls and boys. Deva Matha Central School students also participated in Parikrama Academy-Annual Sports Meet, held on 5 th September, 2016. Students once again made their alma mater proud by winning 8 bronze and 8 silver medals in the 4 x 100 relay (under 14 and 16 category)- slated for girls and boys. Deva Matha Central School is delighted to announce that Mr. Yoganand - School Taekwondo Instructor; participated in the 6 th Tirak Taekwondo International Championship, 2016, held on 23 rd October, 2016. The venue for the mega event was - John Paul II Sports Centre, Bangkok, Thailand. There were 25 nations, across the world, which participated for the Championship. Our country, India was represented by 25 sports personalities; Mr. S. Yoganand won a gold medal in Kyorugi (fighting) and bronze medal in Poomsa, category of events. Deva Matha Central School applauds the great accomplishment by its faculty member and salutes his sportsmanship spirit. Deva Matha Central School, Vidyaranyapura, showcased a grand opening of it s prestigious Inter School Badminton Championship on 25 th August, 2016. The event which was slated over a period of three days (25 th to 27 th August, 2016), witnessed a staggering representation of 21 schools and 77 teams (Junior Under-13 and Senior Under-15 categories). The Chief Guest for the day was Mr. B. Anand Kumar, an emphatic Para Badminton Player. The Closing ceremony of the tournament was concluded by Mr. Vishwas K. S.- the Chief Guest for the wonderful occasion. 1) Inter School Swimming Competition, Year 2016-17 was duly conducted. DMCS student, Darshan S Satish of VII Std. (Freestyle and Back Stroke swimmer) won laurels for the school by winning 14 Gold Medals and 6 Silver Medals, along with the trophy for Individual Championship. 2) Inter School Chess Competition was also held for the Year 2016-17. DMCS Student Kalki Eswar, (State Level Player) won the first position in various Inter School Competitions. He also bagged the fifth rank in U-13 Category for the year 2016. 3) DMCS Students also participated in the Vaghdevi Vilas Inter School Sports Meet, wherein they won a staggering 8 medals across various athletic events.
DMCS Interhouse Athletic Competition was held at GCC Sports Complex on 20 th December 2016, for Junior Category and 21 st December 2016, for Senior Category. The Junior and Senior Athletic Team Winners for the both girls and boys category were felicitated in a prize ceremony. Students were thrilled to receive recognition for their talent and sportsmanship.
The DMCS Kickers Cup Tournament- Season III was held from 30th 31 st January 2017, at Deva Matha Central School campus. The extravaganza witnessed a staggering participation of 12 schools for the event. The Chief Guest for the sporting occasion was Mr. Sasi Krishanan ( Founder of Super Park Football Academy ) and Mr. Anbumani ( President of Kickers Club ). Delhi Public School, East emerged as the winners as well as were the deserving owners of the Rolling Trophy of the season. SUMMER CAMP @ Deva Matha Central School Deva Matha Central School has been tirelessly working on raising the bar of quality, in its sports avenue. For two incessant years, it has been successfully organizing Extra Coaching Classes in the evening hours for sports activities,specially focusing on Basketball, Football and Athletics. Quite notably, it has also been organizing Summer Camps for children across schools, in the month of April and May of every academic year. The main objective of organizing these camps is to refurbish the concepts of fitness, teamwork and self-esteem in children.
