ESAS Program Elementary Sports After School Winter - Spring 2010 Welcome to a new elementary after school sports session!! Once again, we have a number of sports activities and we hope that your children will get involved! We urge everyone to explore this opportunity and participate. Now it is up to YOU to sign up. The support and cooperation of the ACS Athens Parents is essential for this program to continue. The program will continue to run this year with the following parameters for the majority of the activities ; (karate and swimming have their own timetables). Transportation will not be provided. Parents must commit to picking up their children at 5:00 PM. No supervision will be provided after that time. No snack will be provided. We encourage students to bring something healthy from home, as students are not permitted to go out to the outside kiosk after school. Each student will donate a predetermined cost per activity to help pay for the instructor s time and materials (please see activities sections below). Activities will be canceled if there aren t enough students signed up. The Athletic Department will contact you if this is the case. Sessions will run from the week of January 25 th through April 30 th for the activities of basketball and soccer (12 week session). The week of May 3 rd 7 th will be used as a make up week if needed. In the event that a session needs to be cancelled, you will be notified and the advisor will make every effort to reschedule the sessions. The last day for karate and swimming will be MAY 31 st. For any emergencies or any needed communication after school hours (16:00), you may call: 210-6393- 200, ext. 217 where a staff member will be on duty until all the after school activities end. Parents must always give us the number of the cell phone we are to contact them on, in case we have an emergency on our end. Parents must always have their cell phone on and answer in case of an emergency. If your child is sick during the school day, he/she is not allowed to participate in any ESAS activities. IN CASE OF RAIN, FOR THE OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES (SOCCER AND BASKETBALL), THE SESSIONS WILL TAKE PLACE INDOORS WITH ALTERNATIVE PLANS (game videos and other). For every sport, session dates are provided Please post the schedule on your refrigerator!! We hope your children enjoy the activities!!
