3A EAST REGIONAL WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPS Friday-Saturday, February 15-16, 2019 Rawlins High School TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 15: 1:00 p.m. Seeding Meeting - Aquatics Classroom 12:00 p.m. Weigh-ins - Wrestling Room 2:00 p.m. Session 1 - RHS Main Gym First Round Championship Quarter-finals 1st Round Consolations 2nd Round Consolations SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 16: 8:00 a.m. Weigh-ins - Wrestling Room 9:00 a.m. Session 2 - RHS Main Gym Semi-Final Round 3rd Round Consolations 11:30 a.m. Consolation Semi-Finals - RHS Main Gym 1:00 p.m. Session 3 - RHS Main Gym Consolation Finals Championship Matches *All individual and team awards will be presented at the conclusion of the Championship matches.

TEAM PACKETS - Packets will be distributed at the seeding meeting. Each packet will contain participant passes, manager passes (3), coaches passes (3), spouse s passes (3), and a bus driver pass. Additional passes may be purchased. TEAM CAMPS - Team camps can be set up in the auxiliary gym. Please keep your area clean by picking up trash, etc. HOSPITALITY ROOM - The hospitality room for coaches, officials, administrators, bus drivers, and tournament workers will be in the Aquatics classroom. LOCKER ROOMS - There will be four (4) locker rooms available. Teams will need to share the locker rooms. Towels will not be provided. Please do not leave any valuables in the locker rooms. Rawlins High School will not be held accountable for any lost or stolen items. Arrangements will be made for female wrestlers. SPORTSMANSHIP - Sportsmanship will be emphasized during the championships. Athletes need to wear appropriate attire throughout the tournament. Inappropriate slogans, pictures, or sayings on attire will not be allowed. AWARDS - Awards are provided by WHSAA. Individual medals are given to the top four place winners in each weight class. The top three teams will receive nameplates for their regional plaques. All awards will be presented at the conclusion of the tournament. Medal winners are expected to report to the awards stand in their team uniform, other team issued gear, or other appropriate attire. CERTIFIED ATHLETIC TRAINER - A trainer will be provided. Please be sure to bring your own supplies. TEAM PICTURE/ROSTER - A color team picture with identification and team roster (including names, grade, and weight class) with participants, managers, and coaches must be submitted by Friday, February 8th, 2019. Please send roster and photos to Amanda Hartman at ahartman@crb1.net. ENTRY FORMS - Trackwrestling will be used for the 3A East Wrestling Championships. Information for registering your wrestlers will be sent out by Danielle Dalton. If you have any question please contact Danielle at danielle.dalton01@gmail.com

BROADCAST - The 3A East Regional Wrestling Championships will be broadcasted on the NFHS network. CHEERLEADERS - Space will be limited for cheerleaders. Please let Sandy Jebens know if you plan to bring your cheerleaders and we will have a packet ready for them upon arrival. Each school will receive 12 passes, 2 coaches passes, and a bus driver pass. Additional passes may be purchased. BUSES - Teams should be dropped of by the doors for Athletics and Aquatics (by the yellow outdoor slide). All buses should then park on the west side of the school by the empty lot (soon to be soccer field). Please do not park buses in the parking lot between the high school and the football stadium as this will be needed for spectators to park their cars. BANNERS/NOISEMAKERS - Posters, signs, and artificial noise makers are NOT permitted in the gym. CONCESSIONS - Concessions will be available throughout the tournament. REGIONAL T-SHIRTS - Regional t-shirts will be sold. If your team would like to pre-order, please fill out the order form in this packet and fax to 307-328-9286 by February 4. TICKET PRICES - Ticket prices are set by WHSAA. Adults: All Session - $9.00 All Day Friday- $4.00 All Day Saturday- $6.00 Students: All Session - $6.00 All Day Friday - $3.00 All Day Saturday- $4.00 A few reminders: According to WHSAA rules, only certified coaches and athletes may be on your bench.

SEEDING MEETING: We will follow WHSAA rules 7.16.71 and 7.16.91 Seeding Criteria - 7.16.71 Head to head competition Record against common opponents Returning state placers at same weight (order of play) Best overall record (minimum of 10 varsity matches) Coin flip Wrestlers that are not seeded will be randomly drawn into the bracket Once seeding begins in each weight class, a wrestler may not be taken off the board for consideration CRITERIA FOR ALL-CONFERENCE WRESTLER SELECTION: 1. The regional tournament winner is All-Conference. Honorable mention will be at the coach s discretion. Individual All-Conference medals and certificates will be awarded. ELIGIBILITY FOR STATE COMPETITION: A wrestler must participate in the regional meet and qualify by placing in the top eight to be eligible for state competition. No substitution is allowed. If a qualifier fails to make weight or for any other reason is unable to wrestle in the state tournament, a forfeit will be declared. The wrestler must compete in the same weight class at regionals and state. Whenever two wrestlers from the same school wrestle a match, pin points will automatically be awarded to the winner, regardless of the outcome of the match. We are also offering hoodies for $25. The shirts will have the 3A East Regional artwork as seen below. We would like to each school to pre-
