Cultural Activities Team (CAT) OF MESCOE Introduction Cultural activities are an integral part of students college life. Students participate in the cultural activities for a wide variety of reasons: for enjoyment and entertainment, for personal growth and development, as a means of expression, to learn new skills, to meet new people and to pass on the cultural traditions. M.E.S. College of Engineering has a rich heritage of nurturing, nourishing and showcasing talents in the fields of cultural, literary and fine arts. Structure of CAT MESCOE CAT is headed by Principal, Vice Principal, Registrar, Cultural Head, Student General Secretary, Student CAT Secretaries, Cultural Activity Committee, aided by the Heads of various departments, the student presidents of different clubs and the student volunteers. Objectives of CAT The main objective of the CAT is to bring out the various talents of the students. To provide a platform for budding artists and musicians To inculcate team spirit and to account for overall personality development of students. Motivation to Students MESCOE CAT motivates students by giving full support (financially and academically) for participation in national and international events. Students are encouraged to participate in the activities by providing the necessary instruments and other props.

Cultural Activities Team (CAT) OF MESCOE 2014-15 We had working core committee for cultural activities 2012 to 2015. Staff in-charge, department wise staff coordinators, general secretary, cultural secretary were integral members of it. There was total transparency in electing members for core committee. Cultural Activities Team (CAT) OF MESCOE 2011-12

General Secretary & Cultural Secretary: Among the nominated students for the post the students were elected in the first student council meeting of the academic year 2012 to 2015. Student core-committee: With Prior notice to the student s interested candidates forwarded their names to the cultural head and among them, members were selected on basis of experience in cultural activities, willingness, management skills, creativity etc. Responsibilities of core-committees: 1. Discussion of various events. 2. Finalization of dates and venue. 3. Preparation of Annual Cultural calendar for 2012 to 2015. 4. Discussion of resources and budget for the events. 5. Preparation & sanction of Budget. 6. Selection and Distribution of work to the sub-committees. 7. Selection of D.J. 8. Conveyance of Rules to sub-committees. 9. Approval of the proposed audition dates, venue, budget & resources by the subcommittees. 10. Preparation and display of cultural week schedule. 11. Preparation of itinerary of Jhankaar-13 event. 12. Submission of bills. 13. Preparation of Report.

Rules for Events 1. Outside students are not allowed to participate in any of the activities. 2. Weapons, Big vehicles and Animals or any other threatening activities (Explosives material, fire etc.) will not be allowed in the premises. 3. Compulsion of Identity Card for each event. 4. Responsibility of issued resources will be with the respective co-ordinators. 5. Prepare a notice and display it for respective events with reference number with prior information. 6. Prepare the Registration form for entry. 7. Take audition according to the registration and the declaration date. 8. Select a judge panel for the audition and the rules for selection. 9. Prepare an audition report. 10. Final report with the list of participants. 11. Prepare a budget and get sanctioned. 12. Strictly follow the schedule. 13. Submit winner and runner-up of competition if taken. 14. Instruction delivery must not be affected during cultural week specially. 15. Submit Event report with Photographs of every committee with list of document mentioned bellow i. List of staff in charge and student in charge of respective activity ii. Signed displayed Notice of start and end date of registration and audition date. iii. Rules of selection procedure and student registration forms. iv. Names of judges and their report. v. Audition report. vi. Final report with the list of participants and duration of performance of each participant. vii. Sanctioned budget report. viii. Difficulties faced during conduction of activities ix. Suggestion if any to improve activities.

Individual Event / Activity Reports Mr& Miss MESCOE. In MESCOE we were organizing Mr& Miss MESCOE competition every year. There are five rounds for selection like Aptitude test, Question & Answer, Extempore, Group discussion and Personal interviews Mr & Miss MESCOE- 2015 (Shrinath Nair & Alleza Shaikh) Mr & Miss MESCOE- 2014 (Sidharth Pantoji & Aishwarya Desai) Lead the Youth Award In MESCOE, we started New Event Lead the Youth Award from the year 2014. During the Jhankaar Programme we were felicitate the students those are successes in this programme.

Rangoli In MESCOE we were organizing Rangoli competition every year. The theme for the competition was Ganapati, Element of Nature and Freehand. All participant as well as coordinators were enjoying the event. Many students gave beautiful thoughts from rangolis like Save Nature, save girl etc. Mehendi In MESCOE we were organizing Mehendi competition every year. The theme for the competition was BRIDAL. All participant as well as coordinators were enjoying the event. Many students showed their creativity and skills.

Staff Antakshari In MESCOE we were organizing Staff Antakshari competition every year. All Staff participant as well as coordinators were enjoying the event. Drawing & Painting Competition In MESCOE we were organizing Drawing & Painting competition every year. The theme for the competition was Indian Culture, India 2050, Women s safety and Indian Transportation. All participant as well as coordinators were enjoying the event. Many students gave beautiful thoughts from their drawing like India 2050, save girl, women is most important element of nature, protect her & respect her etc. Treasure Hunt In MESCOE we were organizing Treasure Hunt competition every year. All participant as well as coordinators were enjoying the event. The Treasure Hunt is an activity in which we find an hidden articles/place by using different clues.

Art Gallery In MESCOE we were organizing Art Gallery competition every year. It includes poems, photography, artwork, drawing and sketches. All participant as well as coordinators were enjoying the event.

Traditional Day In MESCOE we were organizing Traditional Day every year as it forms an integral part of our Indian Culture. All the students as well as Teaching and non-teaching staff were enjoying the event. Fun & Fair In MESCOE we were organizing Fun & Fair every year. All the students as well as Teaching and non-teaching staff were enjoying the event.

Stage Decoration In MESCOE we prepared Stage every year for Jhankaar. The theme for Stage Decoration was Shadow Effect Chandelier theme. Inauguration and Felicitation Jhankaar 2013, 2014 and 2015 was inaugurated in Ganesh Kala Krida Manch by Prof. M. N. Kondwekar, Dr. L. G. Navale and Dr. A. A. Keste.

Anchoring In Jhankaar Programme we were selected three pairs (Boys & Girls) of anchors one is English, second is Hindi and third is Marathi. All the anchors as well as coordinators were enjoying the event. Singing Competition In MESCOE we were organizing Singing competition every year. All participant as well as coordinators were enjoying the event. `

Dance Competition In MESCOE we were organizing Dance competition every year. All participant as well as coordinators were enjoying the event. Drama Competition In MESCOE we were organizing Drama competition every year. All participant as well as coordinators were enjoying the event.

Fashion Show In MESCOE we were organizing Fashion Show competition every year. All participant as well as coordinators were enjoying the event. Prize Distribution Ceremony In MESCOE, we started Principal M.N. Khondwekar Award, Gold Medal of cash Prize Rs. 5000/- and Certificate of Merit of cash prize Rs. 500/-. During the Jhankaar Programme we were also felicitate the students those are successes in their academics, in sports activity, in NSS activity etc.
