91.72% of goal Total Raised (Pledged + Donated): $1,650,913.95 (as of 3/19/2018) Fund Balance (money collected-expenses): $611,397.26 (as of 2/27/2018) Expenses Paid from Expansion Restricted Fund: $212,373.50 (as of 2/20/2018) Why donate to the building project? Our initial reason for donating was simply because we have three kids attending St. Nicholas School and this expansion would make such a positive impact on their time here. Our second donation happened about a year later based on the belief that this expansion is important to the longevity of the parish and school. St. Nicholas School provides a sound education and development of character which feeds into bright futures for the students. In order to keep it that way, we need to sustain and build enrollment. Having a gym creates many great opportunities for the students. As parents, we want our kids to be active when not in the classroom and not having a dedicated space for gym class is a limitation. Often late practice times are what St. Nick s athletic teams, as well as other Freedom teams, struggle with due to gym availability. As a parent-coach, if our kids don t participate in a sport, that is fine. But the reason shouldn t be because of the late practice times or inconvenience. It should be exciting to be part of a team, not a hassle. Now with this expansion SO close to becoming a reality, we are planning a third donation to go towards the efforts to build the larger gym. Having a gym with a single full-size court but large enough to have dual cross courts, offers a more flexible space that can handle a wider range of events. Pairing a facility of this size along with the new gathering space and playground would be an asset to St. Nicholas Parish and Freedom community, all right in the heart of Freedom. Neither of us grew up in Freedom but have been here for 14 years. This is now our home. We felt like outsiders here until we began getting involved at St. Nicks and various summer sports programs. This is where we have met so many great people. Expanding the facility would create more opportunities to welcome many additional families for years to come. We want to see St. Nicholas Parish and school be here for a very long time and this expansion is a key step to ensure that happens. ~ Josh & Heather Delforge. Rocket Recorder 3

Hello St. Nicholas Families, St. Nicholas School has applied and will be listed as a Wisconsin Choice School for the 2018-2019 school year. By entering this program, additional students may have the opportunity to attend St. Nicholas, and if implemented successfully, will offer significant financial benefits to our school. As far as visible changes to our programming or policies, you will see very little, if any. Unfortunately, if you are already attending St. Nicholas, you can not enter the program at any age, but if your child(ren) are entering 4K, Kindergarten, or 1 st grade during the 2018-2019 school year and you qualify under the financial criteria listed in the graphic below, please contact Mr. Gerritts for more information and to apply. If your child is accepted into the program, he/she will be considered a Choice student until 12 th grade if you wish. That means your child can attend a private school at no cost until they graduate high school. Link to Choice Application: https://apps4.dpi.wi.gov/choiceparent/login/login.aspx Rocket Recorder 11
