Registration Timeline January 17: Registration Information Night cancelled due to snow day! January 26: Registration Info given to students in Homeroom January 29-February 12: Students should return Checklist sheets to Counselors or Homeroom teachers February 12-23: Counselors begin registration visits to classrooms Teachers have been sent their scheduled dates and times March 7: FTCC Registration for rising seniors March 13: FTCC Registration for rising juniors March 23: All courses will be keyed and finalized into PowerSchool Mid-Late July: Schedules will be mailed home to students
PowerSchool Registration Registration will be done with counselors and students in one-on-one sessions between February 12 and February 23. To best prepare for registration, students and parents should review the Registration Materials and discuss course options prior to February 12 th. Students are advised to CAREFULLY consider their course options prior to registration. These selections determine the types of courses offered, staffing levels, and the space available in each section.
Promotion Standards For promotion from 11 th grade to 12 th grade, a student MUST pass a minimum of 20 credits. Three of these credits must be in English. For promotion from 10 th grade to 11 th grade, a student MUST pass a minimum of 13 credits. Two of these credits must be in English. For promotion from 9 th grade to 10 th grade, a student MUST pass a minimum of 6 credits. One of these credits must be in English. You must also be in attendance for 90% of the class time.

Teleconference Courses Select courses available (mostly AP) Technology-rich environment Limited space (only 20 spots per class across the county) Students are given a laptop and supporting technology to have two-way student-teacher communication. Students must be on campus DAILY to take these courses.
FTCC Courses Students may earn dual credit towards college and high school through Fayetteville Technical Community College. Students must have a 3.0 GPA and certain test scores to be eligible. Students must provide their own transportation. Open to JUNIORS and SENIORS ONLY!

Registration Form
Your child will receive a copy of their transcript and a registration packet in Homeroom. The packet includes a graduation checklist with course options listed for the 2018-2019 school year. Students will also be given the opportunity to take home a CCS Curriculum Guide. Students are encouraged to take the packet of materials home and seriously discuss course options with their parents. We ask that you sign and return the checklist by February 23 rd. Counselors will take into consideration transcripts, current grades, and teacher recommendations for final course placement. Students should make every effort to make sure they have met all prerequisites for courses they are requesting. This information can be found in the CCS Curriculum Guide. Students will meet with their counselor individually to finalize course requests. Registration schedules have been given to teachers.

Due Dates Registration Checklists are due by February 23 rd in the Counseling Office. Registration will be completed with your child regardless of this form being turned in. This form is to ensure that you understand the registration process and your child s requirements to graduate. If a student misses their day and time to register, counselors will make every effort to register your child once scheduled dates are completed with classroom teachers. Course request changes cannot be made in PowerSchool beyond March 23, 2018.
