Insight

How we organise classes Our priority when organising form groups is to create 8 equal forms in terms of abilities, strengths and weaknesses. Where children join us from a large school they are likely to be with girls from their primary, but we also have a lot of girls who will be arriving without a primary buddy. We like to give everyone the opportunity to make new friends and make a fresh start. We appreciate your positivity and openness to this and ask that you encourage your daughter to seize the opportunity to make new friends. There are lots of opportunities for girls to mix with those outside of their forms groups. This year, your daughter s language choice will determine which form they are in. If you foresee any issues with your daughter s class or have any preferences or things you think we should be aware of please tell us asap- we cannot make changes after transition day. (hlowe@rosebery.surrey.sch.uk)

Uniform at Rosebery The uniform policy and checklist of what uniform your daughter needs is in your Transition Pack All uniform is available from Lester Bowden.

Intervention SEND = Special Educational Needs & Disabilities Miss Marsh Student Wellbeing - Mrs Anderson The Student Wellbeing Team work with students on a range of issues such as anxiety, friendship skills, family issues, bereavement etc. We run transition support groups in the first term to help students settle in and we also invite girls to join us for breakfast club.

Homework in Year 7 There will be no homework for the first half term of year 7 After the October break homework will be set in core subjects and gradually build up to a full homework timetable starting in January Our focus for the first term is on extra curricular activities and we expect students to sign up for 2 clubs a week in this term. This will be monitored using Year 7 Club Cards. 30 minutes per week for core subjects 20 minutes per fortnight for all others
