The children in Class One performed Jesus at Bethlehem Stable, photographs will be added to the Class One blog. The Year Two and Three children performed The Mystic Nativity based on Sandro Botticelli s painting. Children from Years Four to Six performed Roald Dahl s Cinderella.

The Spring Term will commence on Tuesday 3 rd January 2017 and the topics are as follows: Class One Superheroes Class Two Under the Sea Class Three The Vikings Class Four The Tudors Class Two, Thursday 5 th January, Trip to the National Marine Aquarium, Plymouth On Thursday 5 th January, Class Two are going on an educational visit the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth. Please ensure that your child is at the Village Hall for 7.10 am. The children will return to the Village Hall at approximately 5.00 pm. Your child will need a waterproof coat and a packed lunch with a non-fizzy drink and plenty of snacks. Class One, Monday 9 th January, Superhero Day at Skern Lodge Class One will be attending a Superhero day at Skern Lodge on Monday 9 th January. Children will need to be dropped off at Skern Lodge at 9.00 am and collected at 3.00 pm. Please ensure that your child wears sensible shoes and warm clothing underneath their superhero costume. Please note that any capes must be removable. Your child will also need a waterproof coat and a packed lunch with a non-fizzy drink. Forest School Forest School will commence for Class Two on Wednesday 4 th January and for Class One on Thursday 12 th January. Please make sure that your child has old, warm clothing including hat and gloves in school which is named. During the winter months Forest School clothing will be sent home each week for washing. After School Clubs Please note that after school clubs will commence on the first week of term. Please see the attached permission slip for a list of the clubs and complete and return it on the first day of term if you would like your child to attend an after school club(s). Swimming The whole school will be swimming at the Leisure Centre this term. We are employing Aquarius Swimschool coaches as usual and every child will have a one hour lesson within ability groups. Lessons for Classes Three and Four will start on Tuesday 10 th January and lessons for Classes One and Two will start on Friday 13 th January. One piece swimming costumes need to be worn and swimming trunks should not be below the knees. If your child s hair is below their shoulders it will need to be tied back or they will need to wear a swimming hat. If your child normally wears swimming goggles they may wear them to the lessons, although you will need to sign the form below to accept responsibility for any injury involving swimming goggles. Please return the permission slip on the first day of term. Freedom Centre A huge thank you for your donations of food for the homeless. North Devon Football Development Centre Primary School Children This year the centre is offering coaching opportunities for children (boys and girls), of primary school age (yrs 1-6 inclusive) on Saturday mornings 9am-10am at Park School, Barnstaple. The sessions will be in three ten week blocks, one in each school term, starting on September 17th 2016. The cost will be 35 per child per ten weeks payable after the first session. Further bookings from the same family will be at half price (Payment should be by cheque, and made out to D. Langford). The next sessions begin on Saturday 7 th January 2017 and run for ten weeks (excluding half term 11 th and 18 th Feb ) until Saturday 25 th March 2017.
