As this busy month gets underway, I would like to direct your attention to a few important events. First of all, our Remembrance Day Assembly is this Thursday in anticipation, we will be reminding our students of the importance of honouring and remembering those who fought for our freedom and made the ultimate sacrifice. I would like to encourage families to also take some time to discuss the importance of Remembrance Day with your children. Lest we forget This week we also have a PAC meeting, the Fall Music Concert, and our Fundy Movie Night. Also, please see our PAC section of the Tribune for some important information in regards to the upcoming Christmas Social (Nov 20 th ). Last year, this event was a huge success and we can t wait to see you all again this year!

Movie Night Nov 8 Thursday, November 8 will be movie night at LFMSS! SWAG Team will be showing Incredibles 2. Doors open 6:30pm and the movie will be playing from 7-9:30 pm. Cost is $5 at the door and includes popcorn and drink. Proceeds will go to the breakfast club program. There will also be pizza, drinks and concession available. Wish List to Support Youth To support youth ages 16-18 who have had to move out of their homes to live independently or in MCFD-supported housing, the following household items would be appreciated! Fundy s GSA is collecting these items to be delivered by the end of November. It is greatly appreciated! Report Cards The first term report card will be published the afternoon of Friday, November 16th. In preparation for this, please take a few moments to check that you are able to access the portal for your family. Attached are instructions to aid you in navigating the Family Portal and a reminder of how to view the report card for your child(ren). LFMSS Volleyball Results from the Langley District Championships: Grade 8 Girls - 4th Grade 8 Boys - Bronze Junior Girls - Bronze Junior Boys - Silver The Gr 8 girls will continue to compete at an invitational BC Champioships; the Jr Girls and Jr Boys will compete at the Fraser Valley Championships. Sr Boys team placed first at the Harry Jerome Volleyball Tournament last weekend. The team was missing a lot of players but a couple of Jr boys (Tayler R. and Amadeus T.) stepped in to help them win the tournament. It was a great show put on by the boys.
LFMSS PAC News Our Christmas Family Fun Night and Silent Auction Fundraiser is approaching on November 20th. We are looking for families and local businesses in our community to donate items, gift baskets, gift cards and experiences. If you are able to contribute, please contact Shara Holcombe at sharaholcombe@hotmail.com. Go to the PAC website to print a copy of the donation request letter you may use to request donations. If you have your own business or just want to donate an item (sometimes the most practical items bring in the highest bids) we would really appreciate it. All the proceeds go towards helping our kids. If your son or daughter would like to perform a piece of music at this event please fill out the attached form and return it to the school office ASAP as there are limited spaces. This is open to grades 6-12. There is a family in our school in need of a ride home to Aldergrove for their two daughters.
