The Physical Education Department at RSET is committed in providing students with a worthwhile and enjoyable learning environment while providing the necessary knowledge and tools to adhere to a lifetime of activity and better health. Students will understand the importance of sound health and fitness principles as they relate to better health and will be able to: Recognize the physical and mental benefits of increased activity. Determine factors involved with development, fitness levels and training strategies.students will be exposed to a variety of physical activities providing them the opportunity to: Empower themselves by setting and realistic individual goals. REPORT OF ACTIVITIES 2017-2018 PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT OF RSET HOSTED TOURAMENTS 2017-2018 1) Chavara Cup Inter Rajagiri Basketball Tournament In the loving memory of St. Kuriakose Alias Chavara, every year RSET Physical Education Department organizes an inter-rajagiri basketball tournament called CHAVARA EVEROLLING TROPHY in the month of February. The teams are RSET, RCMAS, RCSS, RBS & SIENNA BHAVAN. This year the tournament was inaugurated by Mr. Uthaman C.V (Sub Inspector of Infopark) on 19th February 2018. Rev.Fr. Francis Manavalan CMI Professor of RBS distributed the Prizes. RESULTS (MEN) WINNERS: RSET, KAKKANAD RUNNERS: RCMAS WOMEN WINNERS: RSET B RUNNERS: RSET A

2) KERALA TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY INTER ZONE CRICKET TOURNAMAMENT Physical Education Department of RSET conducted the 1st KTU Inter Zone Cricket tournament from 15 th to 17 th November 2017. Twelve teams from six zones participated in the tournament. RESULTS WINNERS: CET, TRIVANDRUM RUNNERS: NSS, PALAKKAD 3) KERALA TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY D - ZONE CRICKET TOURNAMENT Physical Education also conducted the 1st KTU D Zone cricket tournament from 7 th to 14 th November, 2017. Twenty four teams from various colleges participated in the tournament. RESULTS WINNERS: RSET, KAKKANAD RUNNERS: MEC, THRIKKAKARA

4) ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET The 13 th Annual Athletic Meet for the year 2017-2018 was a grand success. With each passing year the level of competition becomes more intense and stronger, and as regards the standard of the Sports Meet. The Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Francis Manavalan CMI, Professor of RBS arrived at 9.00 am and the meet commenced with the welcome. It was followed by the customary opening prayer by our S8 students. The meet began with the opening march past. It was led by Aryans House followed by Mugals House who were in turn followed by Rajputs House followed by Spartans House and last Vikings House. Days of practice for the march past had brought us to perfection. The solemn oath taking ceremony led by Sports secretary Mr. Johny Joseph, followed by the lighting of the Torch by the five sports person set the tone for the competition. Fr. Francis Manavalan CMI declared the Meet open Track events starts with the 400m and 200m races for men and women respectively. The students cheering for their house-mates.the individual championships bagged by Mr. Jerin Jolly of Aryans and Feby Ann Thankachan of Rajputs.The Overall Champions and Runners Up are RAJPUTS& VIKINGS. The prize distributions were held by Rev. Fr. Mejo Paul CMI. The Meet finally closed with the singing of the National Anthem TEAM ACHIEVEMENTS 2017-2018 The RSET Men team won the first prize for All Kerala Inter collegiate Football tournament Organized by KMEA Engineering College, Edathala, on 22 nd February 2018.

The RSET Men team won the Second prize for All Kerala Inter collegiate Volleyball Championship Organized by KMEA Engineering College, Edathala, on 22 nd February 2018. RSET Women Volleyball team won the first prize for KTU INTER ZONE Volleyball Championship held at St.George College Aruvithura, on 26 th November, 2017.

The RSET Men Table Tennis team won the third Prize for KTU INTER ZONE Table Tennis Championship held at CET,Trivandrum on 28/09/2017. RSET Women Basketball team won the Second prize for KTU INTER ZONE Basketball Championship held at Eranad Knowledge City Technical Campus Manjeri, Malappuram, from 20th to 23 rd October 2017. The RSET Women Badminton team won the second prize for KTU INTER ZONE Badminton Championship held at Toss Academy, Trivandrum on 3 rd November, 2017.

The RSET Women Table Tennis team won the second prize for KTU INTER ZONE Table Tennis Championship held at CET, Trivandrum on 9 th November, 2017. RSET men & women team won the first prize for KTU D ZONE Table Tennis Championship, held at FISAT, Angamaly on 27/09/2017. RSET women Basketball team won the first prize for KTU D ZONE Basketball Championship held at AISAT College, Kalamassery on 15/10/2017.

RSET women Badminton team won the first prize for KTU D ZONE Badminton Championship held at M.A College of Engineering, Kothamangalam on 13/10/2017. The RSET Women Volleyball team won the first prize for KTU D-ZONE Volleyball Championship held at M.A College of Engineering, Kothamangalam on 13 th November, 2017.

STUDENTS REPRESENTATIONS IN INTER-UNIVERSITY COMPETITIONS 2017-2018 BASKETBALL Represented KERALA TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY team for South Zone Inter University Basketball championship, held at Sri Sairam Engineering College, Chennai from 26 th to 29 th December 2017. CRICKET Represented KERALA TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY team for the South Zone Inter University Cricket Championship, organized by Andhra University from 3 rd to 7 th January 2018.
