12 New From PSC January from Jeff Jones, Program Director Outreach & Training Georgia Professional Standards Commission Educational Leadership (704) will convert to a Tier II Standard Educational Leadership (710) certificate. Non-Renewable Educational Leadership (704) will remain as a Non-Renewable, but the field will convert to Tier II Standard Educational Leadership (710). Upon completion of outstanding requirements, the Non-Renewable may be converted to Standard Professional Educational Leadership (710). Performance-Based Educational Leadership Building Level (706) and System Level (707) will convert to a Tier II Performance-Based Educational Leadership certificate (710). Non-Renewable Performance-Based Educational Leadership Building Level (706) and System Level (707) certificate fields will be converted at a later date.

13 IMPORTANT! In reference to the Title I Comparability Report and CPI, districts must report the Secondary Fund code for classified staff that are not state or locally funded. Otherwise, if no Secondary Fund Code is reported for classified staff, it will be assumed they are state or locally funded. 14 CPI Final Reminder THINGS CHANGE! Check with your schools to see if any non-teacher personnel have taken over any teacher assignments. May require adding a teaching assignment for an administrator or counselor. Teaching Assignments not added cause errors in Student Record when a course is reported with a Teacher ID that does not have a Job Code < 200.

16 What s New for FY2016 FTE Cycle 3? NEW DATA ELEMENT TOTAL SERVICE MINUTES TOTAL SERVICE MINUTES is the total number of minutes for all IEP services that were in effect the week of the FTE Count Day. TOTAL SERVICE MINUTES must be reported for each student reported with a PRIMARY AREA and ALL SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES = Y.

17 What s New for FY2016 FTE Cycle 3? Exceptions for reporting TOTAL SERVICE MINUTES: Do not report TOTAL SERVICE MINUTES for PK students (leave the field null) Do not report TOTAL SERVICE MINUTES for students attending one of the three (3) State Schools Do not report TOTAL SERVICE MINUTES for ISP/NO IEP students (leave the field null) For GNETS students - do not report services provided in a GNETS class. Report only services included in the IEP which are NOT provided through GNETS. Do not leave this field null - if the correct response is 0, instead, report the 0. Include ONLY the IEP services which are in effect the week of the March FTE.

18 What s New for FY2016 FTE Cycle 3? NEW EDITS E0716: TOTAL SERVICE MINUTES must be a numeric value. Alpha and special characters are not allowed. E0717: Student s GRADE LEVEL = PK. TOTAL SERVICE MINUTES must be null. E0718: ALL SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES = S or N, TOTAL SERVICE MINUTES must be null. E0719: Student reported by one of the State Schools. TOTAL SERVICE MINUTES must be null.

19 What s New for FY2016 FTE Cycle 3? NEW EDITS E0721: STUDENT STATUS = W. TOTAL SERVICE MINUTES must be null. E0714: A PRIMARY AREA was not reported for the record, TOTAL SERVICE MINUTES must be null. E0713: Student reporting GNETS segments (PROGRAM CODE = 4 ). TOTAL SERVICE MINUTES must be greater than or equal to 0.

21 Helpful Tips - Documentation FILE LAYOUT - The file layout includes the name of every data element being collected, the format, field length, starting/ending position, a description of the data element, and a list of all the edit checks related to the data element. DATA ELEMENT DETAIL - The Data Element Detail includes the definitions and coding guidelines for all of the data elements reported in FTE. The document is organized in alphabetical order by the name of the data element (or field ). GENERAL INFORMATION - This document includes a summary of data element/edit changes, common terms, standard definitions, and information related to FTE processes and resources. CATEGORIES AND WEIGHTS The Categories and Weights document provides the FTE Coordinator with a description of each program code and the funding weight for each program code. GUIDELINES FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION ENVIRONMENTS The Guidelines for Special Education Environments document - which is age specific, provides the FTE Coordinator/Special Education staff with the decision rules to be used in determining which environment to use when reporting each child.
