2 Dear Parents, Burr Intermediate School will be having a Science Fair on March 6 & 7, You will be invited to view the exhibits in each classroom on ONE of these evenings. Projects may be taken home after your evening visit. All students are expected to participate. In addition to their display board, they are to complete: ü Topic Selection Form (pg. 5) ü Science Fair Project Plan (pg. 7-8) ü Summary of Project Form (pg. 10) All of these are included in this packet. We have also added other information, which we hope you find useful. You can find more resources on the Science Fair section of the Burr website. We will be happy to help your child select an appropriate topic of interest. We encourage your support; however the project must clearly reflect your child s own efforts. The Science Fair Project Plan and Summary Form are due on March 2, Please return the signed form on the next page as soon as possible. 4 After you ve selected your topic, there are about 6 weeks until your project is due. Here is a suggested timetable to help you stay on track! 5 This project will be judged by your peers, parents, teachers, and DUE maybe even judges from Brookhaven Lab! So it s important to January 12, 2018 put a lot of thought into your topic selection. You may need some guidance in selecting your project idea. You can ask for help from your parents, classmates, and especially your teacher.
