1 GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS 1. All the participants along with the teachers should report to the school by 8:30 am. 2. The participants will be allotted a Registration Number as their identity for the competitions. 3. All the events will start simultaneously at 9:00 am at the allotted venues. 4. The participants will come in their requisite costumes. 5. A child can participate only in one event. 6. It would be appreciated if not more than two teachers accompany their students. The teachers will be required to stay in the school auditorium till the event ends. 7. I & II positions will be awarded to the winners. 8. Participation certificates will be given to all the participants. 9. The rules specified for the particular event (s) should be strictly adhered to. 10. Heavy, large and space occupying props are not allowed. 11. All CDs should be properly labelled and cued and handed over to the venue incharge before the event starts. 12. Decision of the judges will be final and binding. NOTE: The host school will present a non competitive entry. The Closing Ceremony will be held in the school Auditorium after the completion of all the events and compilation of results at pm. The Rolling Trophy will be awarded to the school which secures highest marks overall. The Trophy will stay with the winning school for a year. It must be returned to the host school a month in advance before the next Euphoria - An Inter School Fest in
2 Disfraz Baile (A Fancy Dress Walk) Fancy Dress Shows help children to escape their own characters by adopting the persona of someone else. They also help the little children in shedding their hesitation and let them come up with flying colours. 1) To make the children showcase their tender and fragile innocence. 2) To make them look glamorous and beautiful when they come on the stage. 3) To boost their confidence and self-esteem. Play Group Age 2-3yrs 2 (in pair) 2 minutes Topic Good and Evil Auditorium The participants have to dress up as Good and Evil, for example, Rama and Ravana, Fairy and Witch, Hero and Villain etc. Background music will be played by the host school. Pen drives and MP3 are not allowed. Participants have to be in the requisite costumes. Judgement will be made on the basis of costume, walk, confidence and overall presentation. 2
3 Escapade (The Rhyme Dramatization) Nursery rhymes are excellent springboards for drama activities in the early years of classroom that invite creative expressions from a young child. 1) To develop the child s ability to use his or her imagination, body and voice. 2) To encourage children to use facial expressions, gestures and movements instead of words. Pre School Age 3-4 yrs minutes Pre School Aster A rhyme can either be in English/Hindi or bilingual. Small and handy props can be used. Judgement will be made on the basis of costumes, props used, expressions and the message conveyed. 3
4 Hum Saath Saath Hain (The Advertisement Competition) Advertisement is the promotion of a product or service and is extremely pervasive in the contemporary society. Advertisements influence all of us in a great way. The Advertisement Making Competition is a great platform for showcasing the creative zing in the kids. 1) To augment children s knowledge about buying and selling of daily products. 2) To improve their communication skills. 3) To enlarge children s learning about objects that go hand in hand. Pre Primary Age 4-5 yrs 2 2 minutes Theme Coupling of Objects Pre Primary Rosemary Participants are required to advertise two objects pairing each other. For example: Chalk & Duster, Shoe & Polish, Pencil & Eraser. The advertisement can be in either English/Hindi or bilingual. Judgement will be made on the basis of the costume and makeup, content, co-ordination and expressions. 4
5 Conquesta (A Mind Boggling Quiz) A Quiz is a perfect mind sport, a kind of brief assessment that is widely utilized for measuring children s growth in knowledge, abilities and skills. It provides us with fun and promotes our knowledge. 1) To instil a sense of awareness and vigilance among the learners. 2) To enhance children s knowledge. 3) To increase children s mental ability, logical skills, general knowledge and overcoming hurdles. I 2 1 hour Smart It will be a team participation comprising of two students. The students should be aware of the syllabus up to class I which includes English language, numerical ability and general awareness. The quiz will consist of four rounds namely written, audiovisual, real life situation and tough to cross( adventure round). Judgement will be done on the basis of the team s performance in the above mentioned rounds. 5
6 Treasure Trove (A Zone of Thrilling Adventures) Adventure activities are a revitalizing change whose successful implementation leads to a feeling of personal fulfilment, replicated within a company of framework to produce leaders in all the spheres of life. 1) To help the children build confidence to fight and overcome all kinds of jeopardy. 2) To encourage children to think out of the box in order to unravel problems. II 4 As early as possible Number of Rounds 4 School Playground A team of four children will do the relay consisting of adventure activities such as solving puzzle, building a pyramid, crossing a hurdle and wall climbing. Judgement will be done on the basis of time taken and effective completion of the task. 6
7 Nrityanjali (A ical Dance Competition) Indian ical Dance and Music is an art not only about the quintessence of sweetness, beauty and power of our eternal culture, but it is also a prayer and meditation, attracting divine blessings, happiness and peace of mind. 1) To make children aware of the different classical dance forms present in India. 2) To make them aware of the roots of all the dances. 3) To embody finesse in them. III 2 ( Jugalbandi) 2 to 3 minutes Topic ical Dance Ball Room. Participants are free to choose any classical song(non filmy). Dance should be presented with only pre-recorded audio CD. Music system will be provided by the school. Participants are required to come in their costumes with requisite make-up. Judgement will be done on the basis of expressions, rhythm, coordination of steps between both the participants and costume. 7

9 Intaglio (Clay Modeling) The art of making two or three dimensional objects or abstract forms by using clay is a motor activity in the form of skilled movement which is vital to the intuitive thoughts and the mental representation of the brain. 1) To enhance the fine motor skills and concentration amongst the students. 2) To develop artistic creativity of the children. 3) To develop innovative skills of the children by transforming clay into three dimensional objects. V 1 Theme 90 minutes Idol of God or Goddess of any religion Art - E - Facts Potter s clay will be provided by the host school. (It will not be plasticine clay.) The size of the idol should be 8 to 10 inches ( horizontal/ vertical). Participants have to bring their own tools to give finishing touches to their creation. Colouring will not be permitted. An A4 size cardboard will be provided for the base. Judgement will be done on the basis of creativity, perfection, resemblance to the God/Goddess and overall presentation. 9
10 Web Opera (Web Page Designing) In today s world, web skills are synonymous with success of any kind! No matter if you are a student or a professor or a business professional or even a scientist, if you are out there in this world, you need speedy web skills to be successful. 1) To make children tech savvy. 2) To enhance their creativity and inventiveness. 3) To prepare an eye-catching and informative home page easily and quickly. VI 2 90 minutes The Techno Craft Participants will use HTML to design a homepage on the topic, A School of My Imagination. Supporting images related to the topic will be provided on the host school intranet. Children will put the required text according to their own knowledge about the home page of a school. No external material/ storage devices will be permitted. Judgement will be made on the basis of relevance of the content, creativity, use of technology and overall presentation. 10
11 Wrangle of Words (The English Debate) Debates play a pivotal role in augmenting the views of the participants. In broader terms, debate is deductive reasoning, which is a technique of persuasion. Through logical consistency, factual accuracy and some degree of emotional appeal, the debaters perform the art of influencing and convincing others. 1) To enhance children s knowledge about the existing issues and comprehend it through their perceptions. 2) To cultivate their thought processes as they learn about new, interesting and constructive facts through a vigorous exchange of ideas. VII 1 2 minutes Topic Social Networking Sites are a Boon Auditorium The participant will speak either For or Against the motion. The best speaker will be chosen as the winner. The judgement will be made on the basis of the debater s content, persuasion, fluency and delivery skills. 11
