5 School Rules Neat school attire with new school logo and name tags Respect teachers and school mates Proper handling of school property

6 Reporting Time Be seated in the hall before 7.40 am with a story book for silent reading If pupils are not in the hall by 7.40am, their names will be recorded by prefects and action will be taken by FT and DT To be in school by 7.25am on WEDNESDAYs. We have STAR/FTGP at 7.30am in their respective classrooms on Wednesdays

7 Attendance Regular attendance for school Absence must be supported by medical certificate or parent s letter. When you receive notification from SNAC, respond in the SNAC system. Parents can also call General Office to inform reason for child s absence. Other supporting documents must be given for special circumstances e.g. death of a relative

8 Attendance Absent during Holistic Assessment days, Absent on the day of the written paper, a medical certificate is required. An absentee without a medical certificate will not be awarded any marks for that particular assessment. Those with a medical certificate will be allowed to sit for the written paper (within 3 school days after the test date) upon their return.

9 Communication through SNAC

10 SNAC is used to inform parents and/or obtain responses for: Notify school events Consent for Supplementary lesson/ Excursions/ Learning Journeys Networking Session or Meet-the-Parent Session Parents/ Guardian have to acknowledge or select an option and submit.

11 When you receive notification from SNAC, click on the notification.

12 Scroll down to read notification.

13 Click on the relevant option. You have to acknowledgement that you have read the notification.

14 You must key in your authentication code. If you can t remember your authentication code, click on Send Authentication Code to my . Then a new code will be sent to your address. If you can t remember your address, call during office hours.

15 Click on submit response. Then you will receive a note that your response has been submitted successfully.

16 SNAC Besides attendance, SNAC will be used to - inform parent/guardian of level programmes such as Learning Journeys and other special events - obtain parent/guardian s consent for remedial, and other level programmes Parents are to respond through SNAC - Acknowledge that read and took note of information - Give consent - Select time slots for Meet-the-Parents Parents are strongly encouraged to register and start using SNAC to be informed of child/ward s activities. Vendor in school canteen till 8pm OR approach Office Staff for assistance another time. 16

17 Homework Policy

18 Homework Policy Homework is an essential part of every child s learning experience. It is an extension of classroom instruction and it allows pupils to demonstrate what they have learnt. It provides parents timely information on the learning progress of their child.

19 Homework-Parents Support Schedule a routine time for homework to be completed Give priority to school homework rather than tuition Provide conducive environment for studying and completion of homework Ensure that child completes his/her homework independently

20 Homework-Parents Support Monitor the child s daily and/or weekly assignments Communicate with child s teacher when the child is unable to complete his/her homework Arrange with form teacher to secure child s homework when the child is unable to attend school Check that the child records his/her homework in the Pupil s Handbook

61 Higher Chinese (Year End Selection) From P1 to P3 The top pupils in Chinese (Overall) will be selected to take higher Chinese in the following year The cut-off points to take Higher Chinese hence will depend on how well the cohort performs. (Average score is 90 and above for pupils in P1 to P3) From P4 onwards Band 1 (85 and above) in Chinese and a minimum of 70 marks for the rest of the subjects

62 Higher Chinese (Requirements) Within the curriculum, the enrichment text ( 深广篇章 ) is the main difference between HCL and Standard Chinese Exposed to more vocabulary, but will cover all vocabulary that appear in Standard Chinese P5-P6 HCL will take HCL as an additional subject in PSLE.
