4 Learning Activity The Florida Principal Leadership Standards Teacher evaluation models are aligned with the Student Success Act and the six practices outlined in FEAPs. SBE Rule 6A The Educator Accomplished Practices Florida's core standards for effective educators. The Educator Accomplished Practices are based upon three (3) foundational principles; high expectations, knowledge of subject matter, and the standards of the profession. Each effective educator applies the foundational principles through the six Educator Accomplished Practices. 12 Page 4

5 Learning Activity Florida Educator Accomplished Practices Florida s Common Language of Instruction The Florida Educator Accomplished Practices are clearly defined to promote a common language and statewide understanding of the expectations for the quality of instruction and professional responsibility. High Effect Size Classroom teachers need a repertoire of strategies with a positive effect size so that what they are able to do instructionally, after adapting to classroom conditions, has a reasonable chance of getting positive results. 7 Deliberate Practice Defined The state has described deliberate practice as a process in which the educator and the evaluator identify one to four specific and measurable priority-learning goals related to teaching, learning, or school leadership practices that impact student learning growth. The Highest Performers isolate remarkably specific aspects of what they do and focus on just those things until they are improved; then it s on to the next aspect. Colvin, G.
